hey crucesrx8,

I see about 2 or 3 RX8s a day here in Cruces, but you're the first person from Cruces I've actually seen on here!

I'm still here, but I don't check in very often, and I still keep an eye out for 8's around town. It seems of late I am seeing lots more then I ever did when I had mine. I do miss the 8...

Yeah I am still around. It has just been so quite in here of late that I would hate to be posting to myself. The worst thing would be is if I started to reply to myself.

I didn't see any posts on the AutoX last summer...do they still hold them?

stinger, how has that new engine been behaving? I see for the 09's they have made numerous changes to the engine...it would interesting to know more about what these changes were done to correct/improve.

remember, sometimes your own replies are the best ones...

....good to hear from you, hope all is going well.

The church AutoX still happened last year, just moved to a different church. I only made it a few times and was always the only 8. Guess that is my fault for not posting it. Anyway...GO NM RX8!

Hi All,

I'm still around check into the forum once a month or so. I sold all my toys and just in a boring ford Focus, must say I love my 38+ mpg and sync software... will look for a new toy next year or so once this economy figures out what its going to do. I still have some RX-8 parts for dirt cheap. Posted them in craigs and in prior treads. I do miss the old days of the car crew...
Alison and I are getting married next year. So I thank my RX-8 for getting to meet a wonderful lady. ha-ha.. who would a thought a car could actually do that.

NM New Tires

Any recommendations on where is the best value in ABQ for tires for my 8? I'll also check the Tire Rack just for comparison. Thanks for any assistance.

I got my Pirelli P-Zero Nero's at Discount Tire. They weren't the cheapest tires, nor was Discount Tire likely the cheapest price in town, but I felt they were the best value...free repairs/rotations and there are lots of stores around, here and the country, so getting service was/is easier then many places.

I'll just stick with the original 225/45-18 Tire Rack has the best price as expected, but it's a bit of a hassle getting them mounted.

I loved my KDW/2 245's . They are wider than stock and I thought they provided a much better ride, traction. Discount tire is place I go. Costco/Sams have great deals as well. Advantage to them is if your traveling and have issue with your tire they all can do the warranty work for you.

Just set up a tire package on Discount Tires website and when you call they should be able to beat it by a 100.00 by phone.

Happy tire hunting.

I agree with NMOcho...go with the 245, the ride is better all around and they look better on the car. I also agree with Discount Tire...although Costco and Sams are good too, I've gotten tires there for the truck, I found there are more Discount Tires around then either Costco or Sams however.

Hey 8 OWNERs I still have those sweet NEW racing rotors for a steal 175.00 dollars.... any takers...??? Just call around and try to find even stock rotors for your car. I'm lazy and really don't feel like shipping them out of state. But it may come to that after a year of trying to sell these damn things. LOL Justin...

Howdy

Just wanted to check in and say hello. Picked up my red '04 about a month ago and loving it. Any advice for an RX-8 n00b in 'Burque? Btw, noticed Rotary Rx is no longer around, any alternatives? University Mazda was ok, but I'm not completely sold on them quite yet.

Sorry to say not much of a active local group for 8's. Most of us here chatting like myself no longer own one. I didn't know Rotary RX closed doors, bummer was fun place to hangout. I would say register in the Rx-7 club and talk to the locals there to find out who is best other than dealer to get work. I miss my 8 and glad your engjoying! Take a run to top of the sandias and back to really appreciate it.

If you need a nice set of Slotted/Drilled rotors I'm selling new ones for a steal at 175.00. Stinger hasn't taken them yet. LOL so still there for the taking. The are easy to install, just be sure to put new brake pads on them.

Justin

Sorry to hear about Rotary RX, but Justin has the right idea, get on the rx7 forums. It is rather sad that most of those on the forum here are former 8 owners.

Justin maybe you should keep those 8 parts, you might find a good deal on another 8 and can use them yourself...just joking. I still have my excess 8 parts...and maintenance manuals...y5ou just never know...

Trick...good luck with your 8...if all else fails with questions check in here and Justin or I will try to help.

royce, congratulations on the 8...you will find it is a remarkable vehicle. There are some really nice roads for driving the 8, but be careful...they tend to patrol some of the best roads

Good luck hooking up with other 8 owners...there are lots around, but not many on the forum. Sadly since several of us who started the forums have now lost, or sold our 8s. If you can stand the tire wear consider attending a track day at the sandia raceway...find an instructor first who will spend time with you at the track. You will really enjoy a day on the track.

Hello if anyone remembers me.
I am no longer an owner and free from Mazda forever.
I do have left overs I am selling however if anyone wants to by my "I miss my RX8" package.

Factory spare unused | Credit Key FOB | 2 cabin filters | 1 bra | all weather mats | one oil | One Radiator coolant additive | 1 Rx8 sun shield | Wind deflector for sun roof | ... I think thats it.

I would like to grab $400 for it all.
