am i missing something or is it really $8k for a turbo kit that will give you about 100 hp? thats extremely expensive. i saw a few months ago someone on here got more than that with a greddy turbo kit and the int-x, which totals around $5k

Actually the price is fair for what it comes with. The greddy kit does not come with fuel pump, injectors, motor mounts, bov, and all the right supplys. What happens when you want more with the greddy? You'd need a bigger turbo and intercooler. Also with mazsports kits you don't need to do the restrictor and any fixes. So in fact they are the same price if you were to aim for 400rwhp.
Not saying ones better then the other. Just saying that 8k is a fair price for what's included.

Yeah re-do your math.
Most RX-8 MTs will dyno between 170rwhp to 190rwhp. Lets just say 180rwhp. Mazsport is giving you 400rwhp.
So 400rwhp-180rwhp = 220rwhp. joshk118, how did you get just 100HP???
Also, what greddy kit do you know of that is giving the RX-8 an additional 200rwhp

I has been maintained, but I did notice a little bit of oil around the bottom. It is not excessive, but I can smell it when I drive it hard. It just bothers me a lot, thanks for both of your responses by the way.

What kind of time frame are we looking at for install? I've heard there is a technician that can fly to location for install & tuning? Tuning over the phone with a local shop? I'm in Nebraska & Florida is a ways away.

here is an idea,
Virtual tuning,
with all these high speed internect connection now and day.
I am pretty sure it gets more complex then this. But here is the general idea
Use citrix or vnc, or pc anywhere, etc...... and All Scott needs to do is jump connect to the the machine(laptop ) and tune it while dynoing it.
problem its some connection ,PC etc... is slow and you my get some lag.

All software necessary to connect to a remote computer system is readily available as shareware (or otherwise know as freeware). Do a search for a program called "Dameware"...This program, I believe, will need to be installed on both machines for it to work. In fact I think Dameware has a push ability (remote install of connectivity client) built in if you have the connectivity credentials of the computer you are trying to connect to.
Once connected both users will have access to the mouse/keyboard/etc. Make sure the connection type is NOT dial up or else this will not be a viable solution. I've used this program in my travels as a support analyst for various types of software and highly recommend it...Being free and all!
You may also consider doing a live webcam session while connected to the machines in case a visual of the car is required.
Regards,
Chris
