During the development of our mounts we decided to make them quite abit smaller than the factory units. This allows much easier spark plug changes and creates extra space for big turbo's. Because of the more compact design we decided to make them out of high strength steel. BTW, these motor mounts are guaranteed never to break!

My stock mounts just busted on me so they're in the process of being replaced. For anyone who is out of warranty or just wants a better product, this could be a great solution.

Got pics?

More details please.

As someone whose car feels like one of those old vibrating beds at idle, you can consider me interested, especially if the extended warranty does not cover motor mounts, I am told it does, but will have to look into it.

I am also assuming that this install should be done by a trained professional, not your average person with just average non-specialized tools. Any estimate on how long it takes to replace them? I know the dealers are charging around $500 for the install of the factory mounts.

If you have a floorjack, and some jackstands you could do it yourself in a couple of hours. You probably won't like it though!

I would not suggest these as a solution to a bad idle. Your better off waiting for someone to come up with a way to adjust the idle speed. The stock mounts aren't hard to replace, I bet that Paul at Mazmart can get you some.

Stiffer mounts = more vibration at idle. This would not be a solution for someone with a "bad" idle.
The idea behind stiffer motor mounts is to help keep the power plant firmly aligned with the rest of the drivetrain to improve power transfer.
In this case, they also provide more room to mount a turbo in the "GReddy" location since there is very little room down there to begin with.
This would be beneficial in replacing the GReddy turbo with a bigger unit.

Looks like these don't replace the actual bushings, so I don't think they would transmit more vibration, but you never know.

Correcction: after talking to Scott, they do come with the urthane bushings...he just wasn't posting the whole pics to protect some of his design....

Anyone else think Scott roasts a rotary rather than a turkey on Thanksgiving?

OK, thanks for the tips guys. I appreciate it. There is always something to learn, that was my tidbit of learned knowledge for the day. Now I can go to sleep. My work here is done.

when my motor mounts were bad, my symptom was a strong shudder when the recirculating fan came on....at the same time, I did feel a rough idle....I believe these are typical symptoms of most 8s with similar mileage...

when you get to the point that your motor mounts are bad (I am NA), you most likely should check your coil packs as well (all 4 were bad). The two went hand in hand for me....and I am at about 45k.

If these were out when my mounts went bad I would have replaced them with Scott's mounts. I have no doubt that if the OEM ones failed once, they will fail again.... Mantis with the spirited driving?
