Mazsport Ignition Solution!!!

Well the Mazsport Igntion Solution is finally here. Here are scotts comments on the product currently running in the major horsepower thread....

The Mazsport Ignition Solution.

The RX-8 factory ignition system has proven to be a weak link in terms of power and reliability and after 6 months of testing we are about to release a complete plug and play ignition upgrade kit for the RX-8. We have been testing this system in stock, modified N/A and in many forced induction configurations with great success. We are presenting a discounted price to RX-8 club members that will be available now through January 1, 2008.

Features:
4- 45,000 coils
Aluminum mounting bracket which provides better coil cooling
Plug and play harness for the factory engine harness
Mazsport custom high performance spark plug wire set
Install’s with simple hand tools in about one hour
Compatible with all RX8 applications
Does not require aftermarket engine management
One year limited warranty
Built in tech support (As with all new Mazsport products)

The retail cost of the Mazsport Ignition Solution will be $599.00

All RX-8 club member purchases made by 01/01/08 will pay the introductory price of $525.00

We are currently producing the required components and expect to start shipping the units in 2-3 weeks.

This is an excellent opportunity to upgrade your ignition.
Please add your name to the list and pm me your email address

Happy Holidays and thanks for your continued support in Mazsport products.

I like the idea of this ignition... how much extra horses are you getting with mild bolt on parts?
any chance of a military discount?

I believe Mazsports igntion is not in the same spot has the Okada and only the wires provided by Mazsport will work with there coils

'04 8 with 89K miles on ORIGINAL COILS!!!! Can I get a discount for that feat???? hehehehehe

But seriously, I need to get some more plugs (the stock NGK plugs are fine with this ignition solution right) and I was thinking about redoing the entire thing. I think I need this setup yesterday.

I should dyno my car, install this setup, and dyno it again just to see how much power my 8 was missing.

It has been pretty busy around here with the production runs. I have required signatures on all shipments for the Ingition System. If anyone has question, please email sales@mazsport.net for tech support.

Condenser?

Is the "condenser" in step 5, the same as the Ignition Capacitor?
Small block about 1/2 inch cubed, bolts to ground....

Updated: Yes, the Ignition Capacitor is also known as the Condenser.
I moved mine to a very good ground under the intake tray to match my S/C kit.

Moroso 11 mm Ultra Max custom length HEI plug wires are going in with this ignition, due to the Pettit kit mounting of the coils.
Looks very good so far.

Scott,

I am looking into buying your ignition solution but could you explain to me and possibly other members what this "dwell setting" and Accessport compatability issues they keep talking about. Also what is the lifetime for these set of coils?

P.S. Thanks for everything and BTW the 8 has so far claimed the names of Corvette, 2nd gen Turbo Supra, Mustang GT, Mazdaspeed protege, and small others!!! Oh and on low boost 6.5 lbs.
