Who on the list has a N/A car and plans on doing their own tuning with the software?

i have NA, but im just using scott's map as I'm not really concerned with gains since i'll be going FI after the first of the year...

as long as the rx-8 doesn't have anymore tricks up its sleeves, scott's map will be as good as it gets (while still being safe) for an NA rx-8. there's no need to compensate for MAF variances, LTFT, calibration levels, etc like with the canzoomer. no more i got 20 to the wheels, but your tune maybe be different. i'd expect gains between cars with similar mods to be constant +/- 10%.

of course it's always fun to poke around and see what you can do yourself

I got discouraged with my CZ unit. My idle was terrible when I obviously didnt change any values in that area. Maybe if everyone (100% not just 10% of the cars have issues as Maurice says) has success with tuning I will also get one... This EMS seems to be a lot better than the CZ unit.

I wish we could mount the Interceptor in the glove box and keep it cooler than the ECU box oven it's in.

How is the E-Manage unit, currently being used on Turbo systems, accomplishing that?

Well guys great news! We will be shipping the units the first of the week! I need to do a dyno session just to verify the final version. We have added some extra (no cost to you features) and the production version drives great but I will do some dyno pulls just to be sure. I also need to make some changes for the 91 octane guys. I know some of you will be going to Seven Stock, Christy and myself are going as well and look foward to meeting any RX-8 owners there. Please keep you cell phones on, I will be calling monday, for pre-shipment info. Guys I appreciate your patience, I have tried very hard to provide a high quality, very flexable product and the results will be worth the wait. thanks Scott

no 91 octane maps for me! florida puts up with hurricanes, so we deserve 93!

actually, while we're on that topic...any chance of a little more gain with a map tuned for 110?

Scott told me last week that cruise control was not addressed yet but was on the future update list. I think he could add it quickly if he gets feeback from the first group of owners. I personally would like it but in reality would only use it a few times per year.

I've had the car since 03 and haven't used the cruise control once. I do use it quite a bit when traveling in my SUV, tho, so I can understand folks wanting that 'option'.

I just want the unit so I can fix all the issues we have now with the e-manage.... and oh, yeah. get more power!

dd sends...

I definitly would want cruise control. I'm really going to not like not having it. Hopefully he fixes that and integrates the knock sensor soon. Those are the two most important updates for me.

Probably not. He did say he is going to call everyone on the buyer list today though, so I'll be waiting.

Called Scott for an update today. He was walking out the door to the dyno to do the run on the production model. Assuming that goes well around 10 of them should be shipping out tomorrow. Scott will be calling people tomorrow afternoon for a final confirmation of your setup. Then he's going to Sevenstock for the rest of the week. The remaining Interceptors should ship out early next week. He was not able to add any of the functionality he was hoping to, (cuise control, wideband and knock sensor), but he hopes to in the near future.
