Ok, started her up and I noticed an oil leak, but that shouldn't be too hard to fix. My main problem is that when I first started it, it was smoking quite a bit. Also it was backfiring constantly, and when I blip the throttle a little bit, it stutters and almost cuts off. Anyone know what that means? Good news is no cel.

I received mine today as well, but not installing it until Tuesday. I sure hope I hear some good reports by then.

Do you have a boost leak? Could be why you stall going into boost.

question:

If I got the NA one now, and went turbo later, I could easily just get it re tuned for the turbo right?

I'm going to check in the morning. Start with the turbo, then check all the vacuum hoses, and the bov. We'll see though, I was so hoping to start her up, and it be perfectly fine, but hopefully I'll be able to get her running a.s.a.p.

Yep, you could learn the use the system tuning NA, then once your ready, go turbo/sc. This is what I will likely do

I have an E-01 and need this wire to get the RPM value. Previously, I tapped into one of the wires on the emanage harness (forgot the color). I believe it was extracting the RPM value using a dongle that was attached to the harness.

And while we're on the subject, what about the throttle position wire?
There is not a dedicated rpm output plug or jack. Try pin 2AA for the RPM and I will check on the T.P.S. We dont normally use this function of the EO-1. Scott

That sounds correct, if you would rather, cap off the unused nipple and run a new hose to the nipple under the throttlebody. I cannot stress the importance of the vaccum hose between the intake manifold and Interceptor-X enough! If the Interceptor-X does not see the correct vac/pressure signal the car will run rough, stall and could eventually BLOW THE ENGINE! It cannot compensate for boost if it cannot "see" it! Make sure that when monitoring the laptop that the VAC gauge show between 12-20 inches at idle.

Not yet but soon, we are actively working on that. Scott

I would assume but please double check the signal once it is installed! Scott

There is an internal difference between N/A and Turbo. You would need to ship it to Mazsport, Inc and we will do the conversion here.

Did the smoking go away after awhile? My turbo "burned in" for a good 2 days before the smell was gone. Not sure if mine was smoking though?

Also, on the hose that connects to the back of the airnix, make sure it's not obstructed, it needs air or you'll definitely see smoke coming out your pipes.
If you installed a check valve on that hose, make sure it in the correct way, allows air in. Benny suggested putting one in to not "lose" boost but I've since taken mine out and didn't notice a difference.

One last check, did you make sure the Interceptor powered up, Green / orange led's on? Did you put the 15A fuse into the positive wire box? It's in the bag.

Just got done driving mine 7 1/2 hours back from Tampa to my house, and had a good opportunity to check out what my Wideband was telling me. Without fail, the AFR goes to between 10-11.5 under boost. As far as I know, my map is the same one everyone else got.

Yeah, the interceptor is fine. Vacuum hose is not blocked, and the green and yellow lights are on. When I turn the car on, I can hear a lot of air, and popping in the area of the turbo, so I'm guessing something in that area is not tightened enough. I will have to take off the oil lines, turbo, and downpipe adapter to see exactly what is wrong. But could a small leak make me loose all boost? Damn, I just want to drive the sucker, this is turning out to be a larger headache than I wanted.

A couple of questions:
Do you have a boost gauge yet? If so at what boost level does the car shut off?
When the units shipped I set a 14psi boost cut to prevent overboost in case a wastegate problem was present. Have you hooked the laptop up yet and verified that the vac/boost gauge in the software is working correctly? Just trying to help,Scott

Thanks for trying to help Scott. I have a boost gauge, and it was below 0 at idle (vacuum). When I revved it up, it would stutter or completely shut off as it approched 0.

I installed my Interceptor today and was trying to connect my Laptop to it using the serial cable. It connected fine, but when I tried to bring up any of the maps, or actually click anything under the "function" menu, nothin would happen. Any ideas? My car was not running at the time but the key was turned to the accessory position.

Did you install the black connector between the serial cable and your laptop?
Also, I've always connected by just pressing F2 and the car was on.

Ahh, I didn't see the black dongle in the bottom of the envelope. I put that in and it works great. Thanks.
