Yes we have done it, I did not make Jigs for production kits though. It could be done with our manifold and tubing kit although we would have to make adaptors for the downpipe and turbo inlet. The cost of those parts would need to be determined. Hmmmmm

Sooo........if you're switching the turbo, replacing the couplers, and using Mazsport pipes and manifold, there isn't much of the Greddy kit left.

I would like to see a Greedy kit + all the fixes as a bundle somewhere. Cheap for most people and all they would need.

true - but it's a starting point and a starter kit, and a lot of us already have it in place.

Would be faster to simply change the compressor housing and wheel, I'd think...

As I've noted elsewhere a dozen times or so, the Garrett GT2871 will bolt right up to the hot side.
You will need to make an adapter for the outlet of the cold side, which is not a major project.
That turbo is good for over 400 HP.

Count me in for that Kit too. Greddy has a fabulous name, and I've heard nothing but good things about them, so anything that works to benefit their system, or an upgraded version of their turbo - count me in!!!

I am interested in one of these two options:

1- More expensive Greddy kit, which has the upgrades mentioned here (Pre-tested)
or
2- A custom upgrade set, (Offered by a reputable member of this forum) to work in concert with the first stage Greddy Turbo. (Pre-tested)

** Pre tested:
Pre-tested on the different "regional" ECUs, so as to not exclude any market (like the Canadian version of the Mazda RX8 ECU **

Cheers!

Meh...I've tried to convince the resident snail savant to make a kit...but no dice yet...I think it has to do with his avatars...

isn't that pretty much near the same size as the greddy unit. and also greddy claims that the turbo that comes with the kit is good for up to 400 too

It's close - but from what I can tell, you'll get around 50 whp more out of it.

http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...R_771847_1.htm

You'll get 400 if you had a small 1.8L engine. once you're 2.6 - 2.8L it's down to 300.

If you are good at welding aluminum and have the equipment and materials, it is a 20 minute project.
Otherwise, it isn't possible.

Has anyone used a GT2871 or GT3071 with the greddy kit?

My friend used a GT2871R on his 240(Silvia) it was an ideal turbo. He made around 350 whp @ 15psi. It responded without noticeable lag and dished out power to redline. He was more in the boat to have an all around driver not just a drag strip rocket. I'm curious to see what kind of power a GT3071 could make with the renesis. I'd like to see a set-up with some more top end power but obviously don't want to sit there waiting until 6K to get significant boost on a huge turbo. Unfortunately I don't have the resources right now to experiment.

i have the mating flanges in my garage in stainless.Currently have the greddy kit with the E-01 and a full 3" single exit exhaust etc.etc.
Going to upgrade to Mazsport stage 3 and pull the full greddy kit off my RX8.Upgrade front house to either a gt 2871 or gt 3071. then reinstall it on the 04 RX8 i repaired from the auctions for my wife.
In the process make a switch over pipe that could be used with mazsport upgrade turbo for the greddy kit.Should be a cheap pc..stainless watercut flange,SS 2-? (cant remember the intercooler piping dia.)inducer and a small 1.5" pc of pipe with 3 weld dots to hold the coupling in place time to tig it together??$$
