It is Mazmart's upgraded water pump. Better flow to help increase cooling and prevent cavitation at higher rpms, and it frees up a bit of hp.

What's up with Mazmart's website. Are they ever going to get it together and make a website where they sell products?

Maybe they can piggyback off of another RX-8 website and sell their products there. How come mazdaparts.com can do it?

Hehe. Ray is pretty much spot on. Inventory changes so much that keeping the website up to date would be impossible. Calling us is an excellent way to check on parts availability.

That being said, we will have our new site up soon. It will have certain products listed. Stay tuned.

I'm glad that the question was asked also. We are working hard on our new site and are very excited about being able to introduce it soon.

I'm only concerned about how long the pump will last compared to the OEM. As many RX8club members know, the OEM water pump doesn't last long. My original lasted 3 years/60,000 miles.

I got a brand new OEM water pump installed by the Mazda dealership and this one started leaking at the metal housing itself (not at any hoses that I can tell) after only 1 year 2 months/35,000 miles, which is totally ridiculous.

Can you say for certain that your water pump is designed and constructed to last longer than the OEM?

I cannot make any claims regarding the life of our pump exceeding that of the stock pump, especially since it it made from the stock pump. I would however, urge you to make sure that the correct concentrartion of water (Distilled) to anti-freeze is being utilized since this will affect corosion potential and therefore the life of any pump.

Mazda has done at least one revision of the stock pump and ours is the latest version.

Our pump is not meant to solve existing problems as much as to alleviate potential problems and enhance engine life. It is, in my opinion, 'a tool for the wise'.

Well I never added anything. I do all my oil changes at that dealership and they top off fluids. What did the tech put in originally when he installed the new water pump? I do not know. I'll try to find out.

I will still consider your pump but I want to do a little more thinking, since the leak is small and I probably have a little time before the pump breaks down completely.

The typical concentration is 50/50 but some run as much as 70/30 (Water/anti-freeze). The reason that some run this is because water dissipates heat better than anti-freeze or coolant although it has a lower boiling point and needs the corrosion protection that it doesn't have on it's own. The lack of minerals in distilled water is also a plus for preventing corrosion.

Man... if my water pump ever goes bad, I will snag one of these. But, I haven't had anything done to mine since I bought the car in 03 and I have over 60K on it now without issue.

This is truly one of the most 'must have mods' if I do say so myself. Before long, I'll be posting some interesting facts and data related to this statement.

slavearm: why wait? I've seen people on here with busted water pumps @ 40,000 miles. I just took the proactive approach and bought this one while my OEM was still functional.

why wait ? Is not like its bank breaking upgrade. some people got their leak from the underneath of the pump.

Just do it. not like its hard.

I agree.

If your serious about your rx8 this should be near the top of your list of mods.

Really why? I know my normal water temp to a degree with my Dash. As to how serious I am about my 8.... well you should see my car... I think it speaks for itself.

Even with the turbo, I have yet to break 84c. You really have to give me a reason to change a part that is working perfectly well.

I need something more powerful. I am a little concerned about some of them, so I may just go with the FEED unit. At least I know it isn't a one off (like some of the others since they don't have a unit for the rx8, but they can custom make one), especially since the ECU works with the alt on this car.

Hmm, well this guy if u send him a msg he can build a RX-8 alternator, for 430 bux 200 amp.

http://stores.ebay.com/Iraggi-Altern...nd-Electronics

Some people said they're quality stuff. I dont know. I want to get another Alternator too. I dont really believe in the stock one, they work but ... hmm just want something stronger.
