New MazdaManiac BASE Calibrations
#733
Jeff, I need to know what to do here...I pm'd you but I doubt you got a chance to look at it.
My GReddy turbo took a dump so I am getting it rebuilt and upgraded.
Here are the specs:
- Machine compressor cover
- Install larger comp 28g wheel
- machine hotside flange at the downpipe to increase flow
- Clip the exhaust wheel to reduce back pressure
- port wastegate
- Balance the Rotating Assembly and Thrust Bearings
My question is...will this affect my calibration process at this point or do i need to start all over from scratch?
I have not got my 1st performance tune yet...the last logs I gave you were my first WOT runs, just to give you an idea where I am at on the calibration process.
Thanks.

I just realized I haven't been using the beta firmware, just the latest full release versions. I'll update that and try flashing my car again this week. I'm selling my old beater this weekend, so I probably won't have time to try flashing until the weekend though. Could that be the issue?

Sent my first set of EUDM logs along with the 11 deadly questions. Hopefully everything is OK - It was harder than I thought to hold the specific RPM with a steady foot and make sure the AP was working as desired, haha. If I had cruise control this would probably be about the only use for it over here in the UK. Patiently awaiting results - Cheers Jeff, and thank you very much for providing this service!

Thoughts on this please Jeff?

Jeff,
I've sent you my 11 Deadly Questions twice now, and after a month have gotten no updated Tune. I bought my accessport directly from you, so it should have included the custom calibration. Can you check your backlog and see what happened.
Thanks,
WildmanRacing

Alright, we all know that jeff has a sizable back log. Be patient. I know I don't want my map rushed. That being said your not the only one who has been waiting for a month.
I know i'm being a hipocrite, but we need to sit tight. And thats pretty much the end of it until we recieve our maps.

I'm just hoping it's just the vegas trip.. I hope it's not going to be continually like this 1 month between calibrations x 4 calibrations. I really want to get the tune done by spring..

I just want an answer to my question...as I am going to Deals Gap Rotary Rally in April, and it's a 900 mile drive for me...so I need to know my options here. If I need to start over with the calibrations, I may need to look elsewhere for tuning...that is if it will take too long

yeah, will do.. It seems like i'm going to relocate my intake to under my front bumper to get colder air since my intake temps are hitting 70-80's in 45 degree weather.... soo... god.. I think I have to start .. all over... grrr.. I wish I could just throw MM more money to do it all at once.. lol.. So, basically New intake plus a meth kit coming..
well, here is the thing.. it's still going to be 3.5 OD.. so I wonder if it'll effect my calibration much.. Because I certainly can't drive running into almost the 13's in boost..
Soo.. when is MM coming over to the East Coast to do a dyno tuning day again!? :P

Anyway I just hope that when MM gets back from vegas that he can let us know where we all stand in line.

no, I'm running almost 13's in boost.. I should be running 11's in boosted.. at least that is what my AP is telling me in equivalence ratio
I think I know why as well.. I have a intake hole in my bumper.. and it basically goes right into my intake.. so I'm assuming that i'm getting one hell of a bit of turbulance in my maf sensor while i'm moving.. air is being forced into that little 2" hole then right into the filter... which is what I believe is also causing my idle problem when my car is moving.. air is literally being pushed into my maf. Looks like I need to run more piping before the maf and mabey a bend..

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't you running rich, not lean. Too lean is if you were getting 16's @ WOT. The base maps are uber rich. at WOT i got 12-10...but then again im not boosted.
