Tuning shop in Houston
Dallas has Steve Kan, who is pretty damn good. www.kantuning.com
Dyno Tuning
$275/hr (usually takes 2-3 hrs per car)
In addition to our normal dyno rental rate, We offer group discount for those who are interested in a dyno day. Please let us know in advance if you want to setup a dyno day with us.
$45/3 pulls if 10 cars or less
$35/3 pulls if 11 cars or more
Sounds too expensive though.

From their website it shows it takes about 1.5hours on a NA car to tune. So im guessing it would probably come out to 400 ish... thats still kinda a lot. If its worth my money and time then i dont mind driving 250 miles.
Steve Kan is generally given "the man" status in Rx7 circles. I know he's done 8s, but not sure what kind of success he's had. He's renowned enough that I know him even though I live 2000 miles away. Guys from Rx7club have flown him to the northeast a few times for tuning sessions. Then again, there could be a good shop right under your nose. It'd be tough to drive 500 miles round trip if you needed an adjustment.
He got 208 whp (mustang dyno) on a car with midpipe, rb intake, and LS2 coils. My car with stock cat and stock coils got 185 whp on the same dyno. I know my dyno was done in 3rd gear even, so doing it in 4th like everyone else would have gotten a few more hp out of it.
