Texas Motor Speedway Laps for Charity

Hey everyone, the Speedway Childrens Charity is doing Laps for Charity again at TMS May 9th and again in September. I don't know all the pricing details yet but I saw it on the TMS schedule. It was fun last year there were several 8's that showed up. Maybe this year we can do a club run if we get enough people interested. Here's the details from the site

May 9, 2009 - Speedway Children's Charities Laps for Charity & Mini Lemans Team Challenge

You're the driver when Texas Motor Speedway opens the speedway to the public. Experience the thrill of driving your car around the 1.5-mile oval or compete against other racing enthusiasts on the road course in fully prepped race cars in the Mini Lemans team event. For more information, please call (817) 215-8421.

I'm planning on attending, anyone else interested in something like this?? Last year it took about 12 cars or so to be eligible for club runs. Last year 1 set was $30 for 3 laps (you could buy multiple sets) and you could get your picture taken in Victory Lane for $10 I don't know if pricing this year will be the same or not? Last year I did just 3 laps and it was so much fun I will definitely be doing more laps this time. Also they let you have passengers in the car, they do not have to pay, only the person driving. Hope more people can show up this year!

I'd probably be willing to go, it's just south of College Station, so less than an hour's drive for me.

What does the charity money go to?
