Sun Visors

Has anyone replaced there sun visors at all? Who is the genius that approved the design with the holes? Dammit! It's irritating, but it's something I've learned to live with.

Wait till the summer when the heat buildup in the car makes them break at the seams. Oh by the way if you had to buy them out of warranty I think they run $100 a peice.

My driver side broke during the summer and I had it replaced by the dealership without a problem. Take it in and they should fix it for you.

Understood......but what I was referring to is the design with the tiny holes made in the pattern. They fail to block the portion of sunlight that's aiming at my face. LOL!

A solid piece would be nice. Aftermarket visor out there?

Ah, sorry 'bout that. I think Mazda meant for that to be a "feature." It blocks out some light but not all so you can still see...... kinda hypocritical actually.

I like the holes.

Be careful. There was a thread on here where someone (think it was a girl, er, woman) that blew up her car when she replaced the visors.

EDIT: The above sounds somewhat sexist. I dont mean to imply that being a woman leads to blown up cars!

Hypocritical? Perhaps, doltish. Or a logically antithetical.

I like the design myself...but i hardly notice it until the sun is in my favorite position. LOL! i'm thinking of getting a strip of tint across the top of the windshield.

Im thinking of removing the visors as well as the windshield glass and just start wearing dark tinted monogoggles to block the sun and get a wind burn for a fresh new look

You mean they don't blow up cars??

Normally I find the roofline is so low that I don't really need the visor. The times I do need it though the visor can't cover anyways.

Did anyone actually find an aftermarket visor or a slip on to go over these things? I think that it is my least favorite "feature" as someone put it. You know you could put flip down LCD screen in there place. A little pricey but effective.

If you're driving around during sunset a lot, I'd imagine you could just chop two little squares out of a box of Coke and make your own ghetto mod. I don't have that problem often enough to really warrant changing them at all. In fact, I kind of find it useful since I can watch redlights without having to flip the visor back up.

Haha, nope - like I said I really don't have sunset driving problems often enough to warrant chopping up a box of Coke, plus I kind of like the holes.
