Tint / Inspection Question.
ok...so my tint isn't exactly legal...and i know it...but i have to get my car inspected...do they check the front window tint levels in Texas...not the windshield, but the front windows themselves? If they do, does anyone know the appropriate fuse to pull so the windows are 'stuck' down? Just want to get that taken care of.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Pulling the fuse might work but I highly doubt it, best advice is to be around your car while they are doing this, most of the time the people that are doing it really don't give a **** if your tint is legal or not, and if you are out there they will just say something to you and still pass you. Highly recommend going to an older service station to get this done because most of them don't have the gauge to test tint levels.

Yes, they do. The service station I called holds a meter to your window that will tell them how dark it is. Your fuse idea sounds like it's your best bet.... although, will you still pass if the shop thinks your window can't go up?

there are no requirements to roll your window up to get your inspection...a friend of mine has done that a million times for just that reason. Of course he's never seen them check his tint level either...he just did it as a precaution.

I called a shop in Azle (you can thank me for doing the legwork, lazyass ) and I asked if window tint was an inspectable item - yes. I asked how they inspected it - we hold a device up to the window that reads the tint level.
Question - is the fuse for the window in the fuse box near the steering column, or under the hood?
