Sevenstock XII or Bust?
Wanted to see if anyone in the gulf area is headed to sevenstock on 9/26. Hope to get a nice group of rotaries to roll that way. I've already got my days off for the trip. Anybody interested?
Jim, wow that would be a trip off the hook for sure! How far and how many days would it take to drive? or are you thinking of flying in?
My wife and I might consider going.
Tom
btw: thanks again for the badass shifter!

I"m taking 6 days 2 for trip out and 2 back and 2 in Irvine. arrive Fri night stay sat and leave sun afternoon. I have a friend in vegas to stay w/ on sunday night. It's about 1500 miles.. I thought of flying, but I want to drive my 8 out. just ordered turboxs exhaust, ap pulley, and getting ready to powder coat my wheels gm grey.
isn't 7stock just one big car meet? (i.e. look at my car, etc)
I never did understand the allure of those types of meets
I'm hoping to go to brotherhood of the dragon where the meet is about actually driving the car

Looks like my trip to Cali is off. I just got a 2 tkts one for my blue corner lights and 1 for running my fog lights, even though it had just stopped raining 10 minutes before he stopped me. So beware OK people, if its not raining or foggy, your fog lights are illegal. He then told me the only reason he really pulled me over was because he saw my radar detector. Talk about profiling.

I'd really like to look this up because I think it's complete BS. Fog lights are there to increase visibility in foggy conditions, but don't blind other drivers. They are no different than daytime running lights.
I did a little research and this is the closest thing I could find.

That's all I could find. I had never heard of it either until he gave me the tickets. I thought the ticket for the blue lights was a fix it ticket, but its not.
After speaking with the court clerk. She said she had never heard that foglight usage was illegal. I have a meeting tomorrow to see if I can get the blue light ticket dismissed and will be verifying this info with the DA. I will post a definite answer tomorrow

Yeah...I think it's total BS. The statute you provided says they can be used at the discretion of the driver. Like you said, it was less than 15 minutes after it had rained. I think in your discretion, it was still overcast enough to warrant driving with fog lights on.

Well, I just got back from the DA's office. He dismissed the ticket for the blue corners since I converted back to amber and the foglights due to the weather. He he did say that OK law mandates that you can only use foglights during low visiblilty and inclement weather to be judged on an individual basis. So basically if an officer wants to stop you for he can at his discretion.

Jim,
he said he pulled you over because he seen your radar detector? it's not illegal to have one is it? i know in Canada it is to have one in your car. That should not give them a right here in OK to pull you over if it isnt illegal to have one. sounds like BS to me too.

I am going to still try and make the sevenstock trip. I am thinking of flying instead of driving out though. Since I can make the whole trip flying for what it would cost to finish all the maintanence on my car to drive. Like tires, new brakes and fluid, flush tranny, plug wires and of course the cost of gas. I also would like to get my Cobb and BHR coils before I go. I leave for a cruise on the 22nd, so it will depend on cash flow, but definitely wanting to go. If not this year, I am for sure driving out next year. I should have my turbo setup by then.
