I can haz BHR radiator now?

We discovered a hairline crack at the top of the radiator. I guess the failed belt caused a little too much pressure for the stock radiator with over 100k on it.

Sorry to hear that man, at least you found that out before the State Meet.

Creto had to completely replace his engine after last years. Again he was glad it didnt fail during.

Yeah it sucks but I was planning on replacing the radiator soon anyway but I do think you should remind everyone who has a few miles on their 8 to check their belts (only one O'reillys had the water pump belt in all of San Antonio). The advance, oreillys, Autozone, and Carquest in kerrville had nothing for our car. For some reason all teh places in SA had the AC belt but not the waterpump/alternator belt.

Mine were replaced a year or so ago. But I guess maybe when they out the new engine in they overtightened them. You can see the marks on the adjuster where the old belts were adjusted too and the new ones are no where near where the old ones were.

Yeah it sucked but radiators don't last forever. Just bad timing. Did you drain out some oil and clean you intake accordion tube?

Aside from that, how did the run go? Sorry I couldn't make it, I've had a bunch of stuff going on lately.

The run was awesome, it was a little wet but we rocked it. A certain auto had trouble keepin' up but it was all good He had a passenger and I'm sure she was thrilled about powering through blind corners

We got a new member (jza) and he did very well for a first time run, he drove his car the way it was designed to be driven.

Today when Grungepup and I went back out it was even better, the weather was picture perfect.

That sucks about your belts. Do you have stock pulleys? Glad you got it home safe

Yeah I have stock pulleys. The belts were overtightened and driven too hard . I have 106,000 on my 8 so it was time for the radiator and belts anyway. The AC belt was okay but I replaced it anyway.

Guess I should really check mine trying to find belts for the AP pulley might really be a pain.

The overall drive was awesome, because of the belt issue I got to drive the extra portion up to Kerrville where I really put the new rear shoes to the test.

I think when we go back for the statewide, I will take a can of spray paint to mark and name "KEVO's Kurve". I did cringe a little as I made my way through that curve. I loved how once those new 255/18's warmed up, I was able to really dig in and put some distance between me and the group. For being the first time for JZA he really did a good job of keeping up. I am sure he didn't like all the rocks my new shoes were kicking up once they got sticky. HAHAHAHA

I know one thing for sure.... I will be beefing up my front tires to 245 and the rear to 255 from now on. The difference of 225's to 255's created a little bit of understeer that had be baffled on the first part, but once I was able to compensate I tore up those curves.

Yeah, we couldn't believe how freakin' hard they were to find, even in SA. I guess it doesn't cross part share with anything else so no one stocks them.

I think I have the boxes from when I had mine replaced. I had mine done at a shop for cheap and they had them in stock so I didn't have an issue. I'll try to find the boxes cause they have the sizes written on them, so it should make it easier for you (I have the pulley as well). I'm sure someone on the forum knows the sizes though.

Well, it looks like I wont be able to make the state meet again. Going to be amazingly busy the following week and really need to save up money for the summer. There's still a slight chance I can make it, but most likely wont.

Well I'm glad to here the run was good. And yes grunge, kevo's corner is def a scary one. I remember running close to the front and then everyone hard breaking when I wasnt expecting to on the side of that "mountain". It was lucky none of us rear ended each other things were so close.

In any case do you have any run information to convey
