"ROAD TRIP" to Austin, TX. Area:
#403
I personally don't mind the walking either, but I wasn't sure what the group wanted to do. If I can walk back drunk in New Orleans, I can do it in Austin. I just need someone to make sure I'm walking the right way, lol :D

I talked with Jackie for awhile Sat. and think we are still going with the Omni. We can put at least 6 per suite (since there are 3 living areas per suite) so that will be about 60 a night per person.

Hey all....the OMNI is with out a doubt the place to stay. The hotel looks awesome and it is literally a stones throw from 6th street. Parking at the La Quinta is valet ONLY! I asked if we could park our own cars and was told no. Valet ONLY! I don't know about you all, but no stranger is driving or parking my 8!!
I had a night on 6th street lastnight....really fun evening!! I can't wait to hang with you all down here in a couple of weeks!! :D

Ok, I was looking into another place and since I'm not that familiar with the good/bad parts of Austin I am asking about this location. It's the Doubletree Guest Suites in Austin. 303 West 15th Street. I bought one of those Entertainment books from my kids school and by going through them I can get a two queen bed suite for $149.00 per night. It's about 9 blocks from 6th street Entertainment District.

yeah, but at $149.00 a night divided by 4 people would only be $37.25 before taxes. it's also $12 to park in thier underground garage. just something for consideration. link::

I am still cool with whatever. Walking several blocks is fine by me as well. So let's get a decision made and get the reservations as soon as possible. Having that out of the way will sure make me feel better
