And about RE Tuning, I personally know the guy who owns the shop and his other mechanic. I have had 3 personal friends who had their cars returned in less than satisfactory condition, mechanical and/or aesthetic. One MK IV Supra, one turbo Protege5, and one fd RX-7. These aren't people whose stories I have heard thru forums or the grapevine. I can call each of these people up and have them tell you their story.

I don't bash vendors or service providers; those are facts. I had previously recommended the shop to my friends and now at least one of them are not on speaking terms with me as a result. Hence, I do not recommend that shop to anyone anymore.

I can provide more detail via PM if you like. Just consider yourself warned.

Between work, the kids, and studies... not much. I'm attempting to knock out the PMP and CISSP between now and the end of the year for work, my oldest kiddo had a karate tournament today up Kyle and another one in two weeks in San Antonio, and I had the pleasure of letting a few dozen employees know they're out of work at the end of the month. Life's been peachy lately. Hopefully I can get some of these projects completed soon because I'm Jones'n to get out to some of these events with you all.

BTW, did anyone make the Blossom Stadium autocross event a couple of weekends back? That sounded like a blast, but due to work conflicts I wasn't able to attend.

 

If you plan on holding on to your car a while, then consider getting a life time alignment warranty from someone like Firestone. When I had my 4x4 running, we’d rock crawl on the weekends and knock everything out of alignment and drop it off on the way to work Monday morning. Usually, if you align your vehicle more than twice you’ve begun to save money. I have an old Civic I picked up in 1990 new and Sear’s HATTED me and the lifetime alignment plan... over 15 years of alignments for only $49.99.

Thought Tito closed up shop a long time ago, and last I had heard RE-Tuning had gone under too. But maybe they're still doing some side jobs. I have had experiences w/ both and honestly don't know if I can recommend either of them.

*Update* I've had a few PM's asking about shop recommendations around here so just wanted to clarify... my only bad experience w/ the shops was in not being able to get an appointment scheduled to have work done when I needed it. Think Tito was in the process of closing down, and Re-Tuning was in the middle of moving shops so not taking work. I have dealt w/ Re-Tuning multiple times since and have had a positive experience. I appreciate that they will always take the time to explain things in detail and answer any questions you have(anytime). What really impressed me was that they took the time to drive up to San Marcos during my first road track event to offer support and to see the car in action.
