I recently purchased a 2006 Metallic Red Mazda RX8 AT, I'm fairly new to owning a rotary, but have done some reading on them. I consider myself a pretty open car guy

I hope to learn as much as I can on the forums with everyone and seeing others out on the road maybe.

 

Drive the car in Manual mode. Shift at or above 4000 rpm.

Doing the naturally haha... first four gears shifts occur at about 5K but thanks for the tip I imagine this is about the carbon build up i read about earlier before joining?

 

5k is good too. That's where I use to shift the 'ol AT.
Keeps her in the zone. If you know what I mean.

Yes the early RX8 (04, 05) 4 port AT's were driven by consumers that drove the car in AT mode around town. Well the car shifts into 4th at about 30 miles per hour.
Picture the engine between 1000 and 3000 rpm all its life. Carbon.
So yes. Feel free to drive it like you stole it.

Yep that one is mostly rx7 guys. It's pretty good
