it dropped my idle down from 900 to about 700. But like i said before it depends on the vehicle as far as other things. i've noticed my AC cools faster since i put it one but my friend said it didn't do that for him so i guess it depends...but the theory is that since the grounding system on a car is like the neutral on AC power, the bigger and better connected the system and wirering of the grounds, then the more your voltage is stable and the better the electrical system works because the electrodes are not restricted like they are with the tiny stock ground.

Thanks I think I get it. If I could get get my AC to perform better that'd be great! It was never that good to begin with of course. But it blows even less since the REVi intake! I don't use it too often though. I prefer the windows & sunroof open. Plus it just robs so much friggin power!

I got my Ram Air Duct & screens in from Racing Beat on yesterday. I also changed my tail/brake light bulbs to LED's. Now all my rear lights are LED. Also, I installed my rotor armrest cushion / console lid cover today. Thanks Mike! No John, the bulbs & cushion didn't add any hp gains!

yea i hear that but days like today when i am hitting off and on showers every mile or so its better to use the AC.

Grats on the intake duct and lights/cushion. I looked at the RB intake but decided to go with the mazdaspeed for warrenty sake *yea its an 06* plus i like the mazdaspeed setups o a few things. *.

I was also wondering has anyone heard any recent news about the COBB performance self tuning plug n play for the rx8?

so today i put the clear corners on...and they look amazing. I'll post pics in a couple days when it drys out and i can wash the car. I also spent part of the day making strengthaning brackets for my hood to keep it from bending again if by some odd chance another dampener gets dried out and hard a 2nd time.

I didn't get to paint the brackets or wash my car cause i spent the rst of the day doing a LS Vtec swap on my buddies teggy.

I used to do that before. Honk whistle gawk and flash.

I am interested in the grounding thing. But need to read the SCCA rule book. Don't want to be bumped out of stock class.

We have not had any of the issues with A/C not being effective. Pretty much freeze you out pretty quick.

I wonder why there is so much disparity between theses cars?

It seems that my lack of washing the car created a mildew build up on my headlights! .....thanks Keith. now I know I have the dirtiest 8 around here.

Lol, Keith told me about your headlights when I picked my car up Friday. He said you were trying to get a brand new pair huh? There was a thread somewhere that talked about this plastic cleaner that got the film off. Regarding the dealerships, its all in who you deal with. If I had to deal with Ed at Ducote everytime I had an issue, I would be first in line at Paretti. Ryan was cool the one time I went there. Keith is the only reason I still go to Ducote. He's been really helpful and he identifies with us enthusiasts. Oh, and he is well aware of the issues we have had with Ed. Keith reads our posts. He now gets separate surveys from Ed because they have sucked since he joined. There's only one more logical step in that progression... Anyway, Keith said he may create an account and join in the fun

Got my 4500k plasma blue foglight replacement bulbs today from Mr Mailman. And I think I blew B-Stock long ago btw! Hey- where's Tony these days? Hmm... I think that covers everything. Well, we need to make a plan for the Lakefront meet. Meet me on that thread...

Good to hear you like them. What type of bulbs are you running in them? Its crazy how a little thing like clear corners make such a big difference.

How did the swap turn out?

yea its amazing how different it makes the car look from the front and side.
I'm running Stealth Auto - Stealth bulbs *www.stealthauto.com*

And the swap turned out ok except the DC Sports header was a lil big and it took some time to cut and reweld the subframe to make it fit, and the tranny decided to be a bitch and give us hell. But we got it in and running at around 6:45pm *we started the teardown of the old engine at 8:30am* so it wassn't to bad. i've definitely had easier times doing motor swaps but this is my first time working on a 88-92 model teggy *square body*.

Have you SEEN my 914 lately? Just barely street legal. RX-8 is the wifes car and BSL is wide open around here. I would rather do something to make the car faster, than some silly mod that makes no performance gain yet is subject to weenie protests. You coming to the test and tune in BR this Saturday?

That's odd. Since I installed my clear corners, my car seems to go much faster.

Well, I still have doubts about the car. That's only natural considering the amount of time its spent in the shop. I'm not upgrading it any furthur until it can run flawlessly for a few months. I don't think I'll be trading it anytime soon, however. I'll probably just buy a beater suv for backup.

K&N claims a 10hp increase http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...d=69-6030-1TFK

RB is all hush hush about the increased HP using the REVi CAI. What's up with that????

Morning boys. Joe- I'm not sure about this weekend in BR. Maybe BC in May. John- since I changed my stealth ambers in my clear corners to the PIAA's I've noticed that my 8 is much faster! And I'll check out that link later today, you've caught my interest there. Dominic- I'm glad your 8's back in the game. Roger- you'll be getting that ot soon since summers coming, right? Sounds like maybe a little too much, hope ya find time to enjoy it!

Funny you mention that. I was just reading about that in a DIY thread.

I think I'm backing off on that intake. A lot of people seem to say that getting the RB scoop and replacing the intake contraption under the nose cover is a good idea. I might just do that, get the oil coller screens, and then do the flash next month or so.

If we were somewhere not below sea level and a little drier and not so apt to flood, I'd get the AEM.

Oh well...

If anyone shops at Comp USA on vets, inform iRX-8 about the "Z" meet. I just sent him an email. lets see if he responds.
