Yeah, I did it last night. It was on that first curve out of Main Entertainment and into Cosco. I rounded the corner, swerved and into the tree I went. No racing, but it would help if they puts some lights. Mr. Ed had to park so that his headlights were facing my car, otherwise you couldn't see jack. There was also no light by the tree.

But it's my fault, I accept full blame and responsibility.

If the suspension is messed up that's not going to be cheap! I am really sorry that happened, I can go to Costco and bitch about the lighting for ya!

Women drivers

Ok, just got back from meeting with Dazy and her poor 8 So here are the pics. Doesn't look that bad (of course it doesn't look that goo either). It looks like just the tires on the drivers side are flat, her rims on the passenger side are a little scraped up. BTW the pics were from my camera phone so they may not blow up too good?

Wow, ask any yea shall receive.

Your front nose piece is obviously trashed. I think it is a good excuse to go with a Mazdaspeed or equivalent replacement. (Matching that red-mica is going to be a bitch though no matter what you do.)

If she gets it done at the dealership shouldn't they beable to match it by the paint code? Anyway, I'm sure she will give it a thorough look over before accepting it.

The color is not the issue it's the way the metal flake lays down on the car, from certain angles and in certain lights it will be noticeable, no way around it.

Sorry to read about this Dazy

I agree with this. The dealership painted mine and maybe it's just me being picky because it's my car, but the paint where it was repaired looks slightly darker at different angles. I can deal with that a lot better than the dent though. MAYBE Dazy will have better luck though.

the metal flake is part of the paint.
it's actually in the paint color itself and you have to get that paint from mazda if i remember correctly.
You're looking at a new bumper, appearance package and 2 new tires + paint..

you could probably save a bit of cash and get the mazdaspeed front end actually.

I think most of that depends on what her insurance is gonna do. It would be logical for them to go the cheapest route if it included getting her a Mazdaspeed nose and CF hood, but I've learned that most insurance companies (most companies for that matter) aren't really prone to logic.

I concur, they usually will only install OEM parts or whatever part was on there.

Maybe you should talk to Mr.ED and ask him to talk to his friend that did his body work. He might be able to swing with the Mazdaspeed and the CF hood and maybe some other stuff for what the adjuster comes up with. Doesn't hurt to ask.

now that i think about it. i would take it to Martin. you could get alot more stuff for your car like the MS front. that already comes painted so there would be no worries in matching. and if there is anything wrong with the suspension...you could could probably get upgraded for the same price as the OEM parts. i will talk to him tomorrow and see what he thinks. he does good work and if anything isn't perfect then he is more then happy to fix it. just takes a little longer due to lack of man power. and plus he is usually more generous with the ladies!

If that's a route you want to go Dazy then after Mr.ED talks to his friend you might want to call the adjuster and give them the new address to tow it to since they will be towing it anyways. Martin may actually be able to get it done faster than the dealership, because of the work load that a lot of dealerships get. I also think that Hillard's Bodyshop isn't on Bryant Irvin, i think they have one that is off-site.

I agree on the paint. It will probably be extremely hard to match. Looks like the spoiler on my car was painted and installed at the dealership. At first I just thought the previous owner had put a black spoiler on a green car, but if you get up close, the paint is green with the metal flakes in it...it just looks ALOT darker than the original paint. I like it though...give it character and I can pick it out if around another green look-alike.
