I killed a tree
If anyone asks about a tree in the Costco parking lot that looks like someone ran it over, it was me.
Maybe I should mention that the tree was surrounded by a curb. That would mean that one would have to drive up and over the curb in order to kill the tree... yup, that was me too.
The 8 doesn't look so pretty right now. The front bumper and lip are messy, the tree left it's mark on my hood, my tires (not exactly sure how many) are flat and my wheels are facing every direction but forward (this is WITH the steering wheel in it's "natural" position).
I'm going to pick up a rental car this morning. No offense Mr. Ed, but I'm really hoping it's not a Focus. Two is plenty for this group.
The good news? I think the majority of the damage is cosmetic with the main structure being ok (this is coming from the owner so take it how you wish). No air bags went off, I was able to drive it very slowly to the dealership (actually the hotel across the street) with the DSC light on the entire time, and with the exception of a headache, I'm fine.
I can't say thank you enough Mr. Ed for turning around and helping me out last night.
OK. Let the ragging begin.

Damn Dazy I hate to hear that. I'm glad you weren't hurt. Since a bags did not deploy the insurance claim will not be "as bad" at least. It would be a good time for a body kit, at least a nose.

At least your ok that is the most important thing...
I suppose there is room to tell you about being a responsible driver or some crap here.. but I am sure you already know all of that stuff, so I will just hush now. :D

Ouch girl...sorry to hear that. Hope that you and your car are ok (well after repairs). Good news is that you have plenty of time to fix it before the road trip!! :D

I don't know if anything underneath is bent or broken. I'm going to drive by after I get the rental, take some pics and see if I can get a better look.
Yep, going in with no exhaust. The service department is going to think I'm some whacko who likes to take apart and put the car together again. The sad part is that it's kinda true.

I doubt you did any damage other than de-aligning the front wheels.

I hate going through that parking lot. For those who have not been there you turn off the service road into for what is the most part a pretty defined roadway pretty much until you get to RackDaddy's. The problem is when you go to leave the way you came in the service road is one way. If you want to go the other direction you have to go through the Costco parking lot.
One thing that is for damn sure is that whoever designed that parking lot was shitfaced drunk because that is the goofiest layout I have ever seen.
It is one big *** piece of property and instead of just making a straight shot through they make your *** work for it
Now I never ran over anything leaving but if I was in a big truck with a brush guard and wanted to make a straight line out of that place they would have a lot of trees and **** lying in my wake. David was with me the first time I was there and we were both wondering what the hell was up with that.

You'll have your "baby" back and she'll be good as new before you know it.

It was raining last night and it's not a very well designed parking lot as far as entering or exiting goes. I just talked with her and she is alright, don't think she was hurt. I'm gonna go by and take some picts for her. If she wants, I'll post em.

unfrotunately from what i could tell last night it looked like both the front and the rear axle were bent. nothing was hanging down underneath but i beleive 3 out of 4 tires were losing air.
you definitely killed that tree!!! it was about 4-5 inches thick and lying there screaming on the ground!!!
soerry about it all but atleast you will get some new **** out of it. if there is anything wrong with the suspension asj if you can upgrade to new springs or sway bars or a new freont end!
sorry again and alteast youi are alright.

Are you happy enough with how Martin did your car to send her over? That is where I would send her. Man I just thought about something! Her exhaust is pulled off the car right now.
