DFW Austin Trip 2006
It’s official ! The 2006 DFW Trip to Austin is set for 21-23 April !
I hope it’s early enough for everyone to pencil it into their schedules so they can attend because last year’s trip was an absolute blast!!
I'd like to coordinate with TexasRX's of Austin to have a large get-together with Austin rotary owners during that weekend. There will be the Lime Creek drive and of course 6th Street. Other activity suggestions are welcomed.
Our hotel as been booked!!
We're staying at the Austin Marriott at the Capitol
701 East 11th Street - easily within walking distance of 6th
We have 5 rooms reserved, each non-smoking with two double beds. We will put 4 people in each room until we're full and then we'll either add more rooms or we'll use Jenkins' air mattresses, lol.
If you do not feel comfortable staying in the same room with others you may or may not know, feel free to book your own room, however please let me know if you do this so I do not include you in the hotel room head count.
Houstonites - let me know if you would like to be included in the hotel room head count or not as soon as you know. With Slim as the official "I had fun" spokesperson, we guaruntee you will have a good time.
The hotel rates are $179/night with 15% tax making it $103 per person for the entire weekend. Parking is $12/day.

The Austin show was still tentative when you viewed the schedule, but
due to venue issues was taken off the schedule. We will not be stopping
in Austin. Sorry for the bad news. We still have the Dallas HIN -
10/7/06. See you there.

So how does this effect your availability?
And a side note, I checked out your schedule for 10/7 and 10/14 this year... you seem to be busy both days... I'm not sure how you're going to be able to be in two places at once...

I don't think you can change your vote, but post in here what you prefer and I'll make note when the voting is over.
Just for the record, I voted for April 21-23.
There's a Ranger/Yankee game on Sunday May 7 that I have tickets too. If that weekend wins, I'll have to get up early on Sunday to make it by the 1:05pm start time. But I'll still go.
