I won't be trying AOC.. looks like a lot of polish without much depth.. I've been waiting for Warhammer online for a while now.. Got my Collectors edition pre-order and everything, and I gotta say, an RX-8 owner-Warhammer guild would be AWESOME!! Always good to have a solid group of people to play with. Anyone that hasn't check it out should go to www.warhammeronline.com... hahaha.. It's gonna be GREAT!

And oyeah.. The queueing up of skills on Eve would have alleviated some of the problem.. I had no desire to play more than I did since trying to get one semi-powerful skill took a month.. screw that. I tend to play MMOs fairly hardcore and not being rewarded for effort put in did not appeal to me.

Anyone heard anything good about AoC?

You might want to give LOTR a try again. At this stage it seems like there are almost too many people in the noob grounds, but I havent had a real big problem yet with over crowding. Some of the kill "x" are lame because the spawn rates arent high enough, but other than that there are lots of people playing now.

Thing about it is you kinda have to think different with EVE. Skilling is more vauable there because guess what, it actually takes time and thats what makes you and your skills as a pilot vaulable to others. Eve is by far one of the most hardcore universes out there and it takes awhile to get started. Once you do play for awhile you get used to it. Playing the game is more about having to earn money to support whatever is you do in game (for most its pvp) because well thats what eve is all about. So basically your reward for playing is that you get to play more

Eve paid for my new computer *wink*

Hmm, I just did some checking on your game. It has a decent backstory. Despite that, I am not sure how popular that game is actually going to be. The problem seems to be that it is yet another PVP centric game. Judging by WoW's success (lord how I hate WoW) a good MMO has to be more carebear oriented. Further, the thing about conflict is that it has to have a purpose. Fighting for some story will last a couple months, but in order for it to last there has to be a tangible benefit. Sorry for the Eve comparison, but PvP done right is eve (barring all the lag and POS warefare) In eve "land" is barren in the deepest parts of space and its up to players to control it and protect it etc and also to reap its benefits. If you track the real back story of Eve (aka allaince warefare) players create their own stories (and much of the hatred as well). What I am getting at is that for a world to be truely persistant it has to be ALWAYS changing. The players have to control the land not the devs. (I'm thinking more matrix type worlds here) Sorry for singing the praises of eve, because personally if another space mmo comes out anytime soon I am jumping ship in a heartbeat, because while Eve does alot of things right, dear lord do they do alot of stupid stuff. Their concepts are solid, but much like i fear for warehammer, the implementation is made of fail.

Well, that's what it's all about, realm vs realm combat with players actually taking not just lands and keeps.. but entire cities. You're motivated not only by back story but because so much content is held inside a newly captured city. There's over 700,000 beta applicants. I won't say Warhammer will have 10 million players like Wow.. but that's not a bad thing. If you looked at how well they communicate with the fan base and how much detail they're putting into the game you'd see how great it's going to be. I don't have much doubt that it will be the next big MMO. Although it is PVP oriented, PVE is intertwined. The best way and sometimes only way to do what you need to do or want to do is to do both, commonly at the same time.(end geek)
