I hope so! I assume you must know some inside info ...
I guess those of us here in the DFW area will just have to wait and see.
Do you know if we'll be able to get inside and sit in the car plus open up the hood and trunk?

This flaking really does not bother me because I know that these prototype cars cannot possible be built to the same quality control standards of the production models, the costs and the timetables are just too prohibitive.
These prototypes leaving the Detroit show cannot possibly be show anywhere else until they are repaired. I believe that my logic is sound; but unless they can patch them up between those show dates, you will not see very many of them at the auto shows.
Just my .02 cents.
per Cagiva :
I can confirm that in the past 15 minutes arrangements were made to expedite a Silver on Red manual trans from Irvine to Houston for the auto show.
Given no transport hassles the unit can be seen starting on Saturday. I understand that a great big thanks has to be given the Reliant Center Management for allowing a late arrival into the show!
I hear that this RX-8 is a special unit thus will be on a turntable and not on the floor open to the public.

Edit: Opps, I found a spelling mistake

Does anyone ... out there ... know if we'll be able to sit inside the RX-8 at the Dallas Auto show - Or will we have to wait till the RX-8's start to arrive later at a Mazda dealership?
Please (pant, pant, pant) I must learn the answer soon!
The Titanium should be the RX-8 you guys will get to see, as far as access I am not sure.
I have heard at some shows limited access was given to those who have sweet talked the reps or have goten some type of approval from a dealer or someone with some "clout"

to my knowledge there are still no PRODUCTION models in the US.. early or not.. all models on US soil are still proto-types and design study models.....
as rotarynews reported the first RX-8 just rolled off the assembly line the other day.. -see also www.mazda.com

Mazda Motor Corporation today commenced production of its all-new four-door, four-seater 'Mazda RX-8' sports car at its Ujina No.1 Plant in Hiroshima. The first vehicles off the line today will be sold in Japan, with production of models bound for North America and Europe to commence in mid-March and mid-April respectively. The RX-8 is scheduled to hit showrooms in Japan this April.
Did I read it right ... am I dreaming (... am I being too way-out)? ... Is it all possible that an actual production model could arrive ... mid-March in time for the Dallas Auto Show?
Edit: Hey, whatever the case, to those of us in the Dallas area - does anyone want to plan a field trip and all meet at the Auto Show?
:D

(*I just really want to see and touch one! The reason it's so hard for me to understand is that I grew up in Detroit and as long as I was there I would go to the Detroit Auto Show and later moved out to L.A. and did the same - so that's been my experience, I've never been to the Dallas show in the 5 years that I've lived here)
