Check your tail light.

With all this rain I got some water in my rear drivers side tail light assembly. I had in the shop Tuesday for its 7500 mile service and ask about it. They stated that there is a TSB regarding the trunk lid cracking the left tail light just enough to let moisture in. They ordered me a new one no problem. Might want to check yours. They stated they have seen a few.

Just had my left tail light replaced about 2 months ago for that very reason. They replaced it with no problems.

My passenger side tail light had condensation in it earlier this year (I went on a trip to the West Coast and it was raining like crazy). Had that replaced no problem. Now I have condensation in the drivers' side tail light. It's getting replaced next week (the part came in yesterday). It's all covered by warrantee, but it's quite unusaual to have both tail lights go ... and in the same year too!

My DC5 Type R had both its headlights replaced after 3 months due to moisture condensation....... I guess it can happen to any manufacturer, even Mazda.

Tak....take it in and complain!! I know here in the states if you complain the dealer will address the problem. It's not like theres any benefit to you to have new lights installed if your existing ones are fine.

Just an FYI, we have had tons of rain here and the weather keeps changing from below freezing to humid 70s (today) each week. Both of my tailights are now completely covered with condensation. I know this is a belated post, but it is a recent occurence for me and I went digging for others who have had the problem. I will post a pic later tonight, but it will be of a dirty car...washed it yesterday...rained today.

I had the same thing, there was so much water/condensation that if you bumped the car you could see the water in it move like still water in a fish bowl.

Mazda replaced it no problem, and even installed my 7440's for me that had arrived two days earlier.

Now that you mention it, I was noticing my seat creaking too, when I was making a tight turn.

Anyone have a pic of these stealth bulbs? Are they the ones that look crome? I'd like to see what they look like. If they are going to be in there I might want them to put some in.

Oh get this!! I go to the dealer this morning to get both light light assy's replaced because they had lots of moisture in them....they replaced one and then said this is a one time deal.... They just figured out that Mazda made em that way (vented) so they are all going to get moisture in them. I'm wondering???? So for 2 days after every rain storm I'm supposed to drive around with fogged up tail lights??? Doesnt sound safe.

Comments?

Munday Mazda.... up here at 1960 near 45. The service guy was nice about it. It was kinda pissed at his boss. He told me next time if it gets bad (fogged up) to come in and ask to talk to his boss.

Tracer....does'nt sound safe to me!! I would suggest a letter maybe to the service manager and the GM of the dealer. This will protect you in the future. There is no such thing as "a one time deal" on warranty issues!!
