If the 8 is your best vehicle, you are in trouble. I could walk to the closest liquor store, but it would be a LONG walk.

Actually I had to drive home yesterday after work and again this morning in the 8 and it didn't do too bad. I think actually have a low amount of torque helps.

I agree with the torque issue. That is what makes the stang so bad. I couldn't even pull it into my garage last night, but the 8 drove right up. If I added about 200 lbs to the ranger's bed it wouldn't be too bad, it just as no weight. So far I have been fairly pleased with the 8s performance. I'm sure getting more meat in the rear end helped.

Ouch... that sucks man. Mine is still cracked. The lowest I've seen is $480 for a wind shield.

Yeah, you went to the dealership and got it covered. There was no way mine could have been blamed on Mazda.

430 was the original quote I got too.
I just talked to Michael at town north.. It really was weird when mine happenned. It had been cold and the first day it got warm, blam it cracked.
They did find a point of impact but because I always go to town north for service, the service manager said they'd cover it.

If there's no impact, they can probably cover it.. they covered mine anyway.

That's great they said they would without impact, I didn't see any impact. It was there, a VERY small chip about 1/16 from the edge of the glass... It was so far over it was in the black area where the sealant is underneath the glass. That made my day.

Awesome. Those guys are always willing to help.

I found the other day why too.. You can call me an idiot if you already knew this but I didn't realize that the service people are on comission based on the amount of business they bring in so their business is entirely repeat customers. Whether mazda pays them or we do, the more work they do, the more money they make so they're very accommodating as long as you keep coming back. I didn't really mind paying for my 30k service since i had gotten a free windshield... free brakes... and a few other things free as well as a lot of good service.

I guess the way I wrote that was misleading, they found the impact, I hadn't seen it. So no free windshield for me....

They were cool about it though. They have been great with everything else too.

Sadly that is a great deal. It was funny how many places said 165 or 185 before looking it up and realizing it was way more.

I don't know how you could blame the cold on the cracked windshield. We aren't having any problems up here.
