Chance of snow tomorrow?

First winter for me and my 8, should I be worried about RWD with a possibility of icey roads?

gonnahanvan8 12-06-2005 12:43 PM

Yes, if you don't ahve snow tires on your baby. Rule is if you have stock tires, don't drive, no matter how little snow you think there is. :nono:
If you do drive in snow with stock tires on, be sure to tell us when you wreck somthing. See if you get some love.

if texas is getting snow then theirs a good chance we might also.all of our big snow storms come from texas.i live on the coast of n.c.my 8 will never be in the snow to many idiots driving around here in good weather add a few flakes and it hell on wheels.

dazygirl415 12-06-2005 12:50 PM

I drove my 8 during winter last year and it wasn't too bad, but it sure wasn't pleasant. I've already warned my co-workers that the 8 doesn't drive in snow, sleet, ice or hail so if the weather says any of those are coming, then don't expect me anytime soon.

Heh...not happening :)

I met Dazy last year the first day it snowed! I drove from plano to the mid cities area in the snow just to hang out :)

liqiud 12-06-2005 03:55 PM

I can't wait...i'm betting on getting sent home early tomorrow because it starts, and having thursday as a work from home day... sweet. :P

dazygirl415 12-06-2005 03:59 PM

^^ LOL, same here. :D:

liqiud 12-06-2005 04:04 PM

I'll be spending my time in WoW if i get out of work...it's so nice...working from home...means playing games, and just watching your email. :)

bluesunlion 12-06-2005 04:05 PM

Me too!

I'm not too concerned about me driving in the snow, as I'll just take it super easy if I can't get home before it starts.
What i'm really worried about is all the retard soccermommia ignoramii in their giant SUVs assuming that a giant vehicle makes them invincible.

crosses fingers for an early wednesday/all day thursday off.

liqiud 12-06-2005 04:09 PM

about 4 years ago, it was really bad...this tool was driving down the tollway in his Lincoln SUV maybe...hit a bridge, and spun 180 degrees right into the media...i was to far past him to help, but i did call the tollway help line...then i got a good laugh, because dumbass got out of his car, and just kind of shook his head like he couldn't understand what had happened.

Slims8 12-06-2005 04:36 PM

Actually from my perspective, the '8 is my car of choice. I have a ranger and a mustang. The Mustang can't take off without spinning tires, and the ranger has NO weight in the rear. I guess I'm just screwed! I didn't get to drive in it last year due to transmission issues.

Ajax 12-06-2005 04:49 PM

Well, my boss just told me that if we have bad weather tomorrow to stay home. The problem is, i don't think it's supposed to start until after rush hour.

liqiud 12-06-2005 04:50 PM

it's not...but your whole 5 minute drive both ways...what the hell are you worried about...go to work...stay for an hour or two...then go home. :P

I'm not worried about anything other then the fact that I could sleep in tomorrow. That's it.

liqiud 12-06-2005 04:59 PM

hmmm...would they actually care if the wonder boy slept in for once?

And I mean that with respect, not sarcasm...i know how much they love you over there. :P

Raptor2k 12-06-2005 06:11 PM

I have my chemistry exam tomorrow at UTA...it's in the evening... :eyetwitch

dazygirl415 12-06-2005 06:37 PM

Ooh, a final. If you have to go, good luck. Although I don't think you will.

Last time it iced/snowed, it took me 2 hours for a normal 30 minute drive. The sad part is that I'm making the same drive this year and my exit is just after this big ass bridge that took an hour to get over. My tires spun several times and I seriously was afraid of slipping backwards. I'm going home at the slightest hint of snow. Those engineers will have to drive themselves crazy for a change.

liqiud 12-06-2005 06:50 PM

now you don't Raptor...it'll get cancelled.

hmmm...I wonder what it would take to drive tiff crazy...?

dazygirl415 12-06-2005 07:07 PM

Anything having to do with engineers drives me bonkers. I'd start to talk about it, but I wouldn't be able to stop. It's a soap box issue for me. Some of these guys know me fairly well.... I'm not sure what else would make me nuts. But hey, I've got an idea, let's not try. ;)

liqiud 12-06-2005 07:12 PM

hmmm....now i'm even more curious... :P

Ajax 12-07-2005 12:40 AM

hey tiff, how bout them Bipolar Junction Transistors and Zener Diodes? I hear you like that sorta stuff.. you know.. for building amplifiers and regulator circuits?

Yea??

:Eyecrazy:

dazygirl415 12-07-2005 08:05 AM

:nono: This is what I think about your bipolar junk whatever and zeus dides :Kill2:

WTF is a regulator circuit???? :bash:

:wallbash: Damn engineers. :uzi:

gonnahanvan8 12-07-2005 08:41 AM

In Colorado, the rental company refers to SUV's a turtles. The reason is people rent them and think they can drive them thru the snowy mountain roads like it's summer at the park. Most of them end up in a ditch upside down. I don't think the engineers have figured out a way to combine snow and stupid people.

are you sure that's not a short drive? hehe :D: (ya' knew someone was going to say it) I get the same effect from our end users, we have actually had people call in helpdesk tickets because they don't like the color of their wallpaper and they don't know how to change it......talk about driving someone bonkers  :yelrotflm
