You can try, but I always had that little leak. A wider gasket would probably do the trick, or exhaust cement. I was going to go the cement route but I dont know if Id be able to take off the pipe again for inspection. (though you have an AP)

But the leak is gone on the new pipe? I'll take my car to Waco and have the exhaust people check it out over the summer. Thanks again dude. I appreciate all the help.

 

I seem to remember BHR making the new pipe just a bit longer so that there is no exhaust leak. I could be totally wrong though... a bigger gasket should solve the problem and you'd still be able to put the old cat back on. Any auto parts store sells the gaskets.
