Driving my unreliable rx8
A little bit late on this thread man. Do some good searching and read the new owners thread. Make sure you're well informed. There's plenty of cheap ones around but most of them have bad engines.

Hey guys, Im here just outside Baton Rouge in the Denhan Springs area. Im a new owner of a 2004 rx8 6spd and im also new to RX8 club. So far i couldnt be more impressed with the community. I feel a bit awkward asking , but Charles from BHR sent me to see if anyone in my area was able to lend a hand in the next 3-4 weeks in replacing my clutch and transmission input shaft seals. Charles also mentioned a couple other things to do while im in there, but basically what happened is this ;
I started noticing my clutch slipping during spirited driving . Then when i was doing a transmission oil replacement I only got 1 quart out of the trans when i drained it. After refilling it and going for a ride I noticed it slipping much worse. Once i got home I could see all the mt90 that id just put in was seeping out from where the trans and motor meet just behind the oil pan. I've literally JUST replaced all my coils with upgraded BHR coils and wires, installed a DW200 fuel pump amd the upgraded starter. Now the clutch thing and with the holidays around the corner I honestly dont have $1,000 to get the car back on the road. I wouldn't ask if i had any other options. In return, I do AC work, aplliance repair, electrical and plumbing....so if there's anything you need Id be happy to return the favor. If not, I'll at least feed you and buy the beer. Thank you to everyone who took the time to read.

Yeah I got the clutch changed out, input shaft seal and rear main oil seal replaced and all is good with the world again. Are you from the Baton Rouge area?

Good to hear that you r up and running again!
I live in Lafayette, but am in BTR frequently. I have a daily driver, other than my 8, but looking forward to taking it for a highway spin soon.
