Alternator went out
Was driving back from Dallas Love Field last night and my alternator went out. That is a sickening experience watching your car get placed on a tow truck.

You're the man! Sorry about the double post above. Not sure how it happend; can't fix it. I tried deleting the 2nd, then the 1st - no go. Weird.
Feel for ya about the tow - https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...5&postcount=18
I was able to drive mine onto the bed of the truck (stalled it though - didn't rev high enough because the engine was cold). I was lucky it didn't flood, but didn't worry to much because it was on its way to a multi-week vacation at the dealer anyway.

Freeman Mazda did an excellent job, they had my car ready by 2pm today. This has to be one of the best dealerships that I have dealt with for service.

Said that and my battery shorted out. I really do not care all I know is that my car is done, and I have it for the weekend. Even though it is going to rain all freaking weekend. Positive side though River trip second weekend in April will be alot better if keeps raining.

Well evidently the story does not end there. I went last night to pick up my car got about a mile and a half away and start hearing some noises, pull off to the side of the road and notice that some genius decided he did not want to put a few clips back onto the splash guard. Back to the dealership we go, they pulled it in and got that all taken care of. I then notice that evidently the tow truck driver that delivered my car to Freeman was inexperienced with RX8's with the mazdaspeed front end due to he yanked it out of alignment causing the headlight to catch on it and crack the paint, causing a nice spiderweb design with cracks approximatly 6" long. Yet another issue to deal with.
So I am about half way home on beltline waiting at the light and half a car load of people checking my car out. Got the hey nice car from the chick in the passenger side, day is starting to look better, light turns green I start to go and the F*CKING BATTERY light kicks on again. I made it about half a mile and HAVE to turn into a parking lot and wait on my ride. I get back home and call roadside assistance and I get someone that evidently did not feel like taking a phone call at that point in time. I ask to have it taken to Classic Mazda since they are one of the few Mazda dealerships that have a service center open on Saturday. I am then informed that she will need to ask her manager for approval on said location due that is not the closest dealership, while I am looking at the F*CKING MAZDA website and it states that it is the closest dealership. This will be taken care of with a rather nice letter to the MAZDA NORTH AMERICAN rep. Well Classic told me that they will not be able to get to my car today, it will be Monday which I am cool with; the service manager was straight up and honest. This just continues
the tradition of the shitty birthday weekend. Tradition has been going strong for 3 years in a row now.

Hiley Mazda in Hurst is a fantastic dealership for service. If you're having issues with the other ones I'd try them. They're open on saturday.
