You need the Cobb AP for that (or another type of code deleter)...Cobb doesn't make one for the Rx8 anymore, but you can still buy them elsewhere...So to answer your question, no.

Well that sux lol, but thanks for the reply. I saw "COBB tuning" and though hmn? I really hate to spend that kind of money on one of those and get one very specific use out of it, and then I cant' use it for anything else...oh well. Did you delete your CEL or do you just run around with it on?

Yeah, I know what you mean...I just let mine run...I've only had to deal with it twice for inspection, but it can be passed...You just have to be careful with how you do it.

I may not have a choice but to do that either, although I don't like knowing if the CEL has been activated for something else other than the 02 sensor. I do have a scan gauge though so I guess I will just keep it in the car and check it every now and then. I have a good CAT, I just remove the gutted one when it's inspection time and replace it with the good one. It's sux to have to do that every year, but oh well it is what it is. Seems a small price to pay to try and keep the motor healthy.

So this thing tonight...what exactly are they tuning?

I'll be there. I'm going to try and get there a little earlier and take some pictures. I'll try to get those posted on here; it might help attract some more quiet people on the forum to join us. We need more rotary at these meets :-)

Replacing your CAT isn't necessary for inspection...I have a thread on it...Let me find the link, and I'll post it.

COBB meets are just a chance to socialize and check out other cars...Occasionally they will tune a car during the meet (last month they tuned a 2013 GT-R)...I think they might be doing another GT-R tonight, but I'm not positive...If you end up showing up, just send me a text: (214) 476-2086

That a good idea, Marshall!...See you there...I haven't decided if I'm taking the 8, or my F4i.

Indeed! I am just going to leave from work and be up there early, but may get side tracked by that Twin Peaks...

I have actually read part of that. I tried that in my ZX2 and it would never work. The CAT is only $300 for that car though so I just bought a new one. In my world it's just easier to loosen the five bolts and put the good CAT on. Obviously I did not make the meet last night. I get up at 3:30 AM every morning for work, so I tend to go to bed kind of early.

We don't have anything for this coming Wednesday...Since there are very few of us in the RX8 group, we tend to spread them out a bit...You should definitely come out on Thursday though...We will be at the DFW Mazdas meet!
