GB: KW Variant 3 Coilover Suspension
Has anyone on the forum been using these for a while and really pushing them? I'm curious how consistent the adjustments are when you go back and forth. I've talked to some SCCA and auto-x people that were telling me to look at Bilsteins both for consistency and availability of someone to rebuild them and rework the valves. No one seemed to be giving the Tein's or JIC's much love and from what I've seen on the forum that seems a reasonably strong position.
I guess my real question is how well do they hold up and how repeatable are their adjustments settings?
Cheers,

I have no words.
Well actually I do, I finished the install around 2am last night, took her for a drive, and i can't express to you all how happy i am with my purchase. For now I've set the bump and rebound to KW recommendations; turn in, overall grip, and responsiveness is all up from stock by a very noticeable amount.
This is still without any alignment done, won't be able to dial it in since i couldn't make it to the alignment shop yesterday, and its raining anyway, but the initial impressions are way worth the $. The best part of this all is as I was told the ride quality/comfort, on at least KW recommended settings is as good as OE. Perhaps a little better, but defiantly no worse.
Install is a little tricky, I'll post up a DIY, those who have PM'd me to do the install for you I am willing, however after the amount of blood sweat and tears it took i want those sway bars.
Ride height is roughly even around the car, won't know till i get a precise alignment, rear ride height is easy to adjust, fronts are a little tricky. Compression adjusters are easy to get to on both the fronts and rears.
Rebound in the rear will need tokico adjustment cables and a set screw coupler.

Just buy yourself this used motor, it comes with the coupler and is cheaper than if you were to go out and source a coupler alone. When i get the programing figured out on the motors, i believe that this motor will be sufficient to turn the rebound adjustment **** so you can knock out to birds with one stone.
Heres some shots of ride height, excuse the lack of front bumper, I'm prepping and repainting it, in my newly built paint booth.

Just to let you guys know, I work for Ruf Autocentre necause I am friends with the owner's son. He drives an RGT 997 and he uses the variant 3s. Now I am compelled to buy these....if I only had the money! and yes, I know, these are amazing prices.

Mark(polak) and i spent the day installing my coilovers yesterday and echoing his sentiment after install they were absolutely wonderful, body roll reduced to near zero, cornering crisp and very precise, and ride quality was excellent (similar to stock, on the manufacturer settings for the coilovers.) and all this before alignment and balancing. Only minor issues including a knocking occasional sound at low speed possibly due to the low ride height (being corrected today). Altogether very happy with my purchase.

is there an expiration date for this GB?
i first have to see if I can get a winter beater before carrying out my evil plans since I don't think i can really sacrifice any ride height in the winter

Not planning on ending it anytime soon, but just an FYI you could raise the car higher than stock for the winter....
