when a company goes into bankruptcy the owner is not permitted to go collect parts and ship them back to anyone as everything is frozen and then claims filed against the company are dealt with accordingly by the court, but since you were in the collection business you likely know this right?

regardless, there are people on this forum who do business with Scott/RX8Performance and also want him back as a vendor, the same as people will continue to stand up for and do business with Jeff/Mazdamaniac without any regard of the circumstances.

There is still a double standard on this forum propped up by a bunch of *****-mongering hypocrites.

Yes, technically. And I agree, every vendor should be treated equally.

Wow...one positive post leads to all this. I understand people have had bad experiences with Scott and I can understand that. However, your bad experiences do not make my good experience any less of a good one. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I respect that. I believe everyone in this world makes mistakes...and if you are one who claims you do not then hats off to your ignorance. Scott may have made some bad choices in business or what not in the past, I cannot say he did or didnt since I was not around nor was I in the middle of it. I am just saying he may or may not have. What I can say personally, without it being hearsay, is that Scott has been nothing but friendly, respectful, courteous and professional with me. I contacted him about his product and he filled me in with great detail. He followed through all the way to delivery and then continues to keep in contact with me today as well as followed up with me after I installed the product to make sure I was satisfied. So, if Scott made bad business choices in the past, then it is very clear that he has learned from them cause I have never had someone as a vendor follow up and keep in contact as he has. I will continue to do business with Scott and plan on getting a couple more items this month from him.

As for what dealers have I been done wrong by...we all have been done wrong by many in life, not just car related. Evo-R is one in the last year that did me wrong and I posted on the forum asking what was up. I had ordered endlinks from him and after several emails to him asking for tracking info, status on order, etc...and paypal contacting him...he never would respond. So they reversed the funds and got my money back. He emailed me asking why I reversed the funds within hours of him seeing the transaction get cancelled, but for a month would not return any emails or calls I had sent him.

Bottom line is this, I was posting a good guy comment about a business and guy I had a great buying experience from which is what I believe this section is for. Just because some have had a bad experience does not mean I should not post my good experience from him. Like I said, everyone will do what they want and buy from who they want...as far as products Scott continues to offer...if I can use them then by all means I will be buying them from him. In my opinion, he is a good guy and a good company to deal with as of today since I am not aware of his past personally, but just from reading on here. Sorry you guys have had bad experiences from him, but all of mine have been awesome. Thanks Scott for the part and I will be doing more business with you this month sir and from here on out!!!

Well you know what they say about history. And once a crook always a crook. Business mistakes are different than intentionally ripping someone off. But to each his own I guess.

LOL, Charles! No sir, I do not think I have had the pleasure to do business with you...yet or have I? I know EVO-R has been the only one I have had a bad experience with. But with that being said, to prove a point, I had a horrible experience with him however I have heard several members say they haven't had a problem with him. Just shows...each vendor, every order and every experience is different.

But seriously, Charles has it spot on. I have made some **** poor business decisions in the past, and am very lucky to be as successful as I am today, considering some of the messes I have made. I can't and wont make excuses for someones past, but I will say that I continue to be impressed with this guys follow up so far on his product. I have NEVER had a vendor check up on something this much.

There is a difference between making a poor business decision and being dishonest. Of course he is conducting himself differently now but was has HE done to make amends with the people (members here) he still owes?

Scott.....

You might be surprised how many of the people that he supposedly ripped off when Mazport and himself went bankrupt......actually recieved most of the products and then charged back the whole amount to their credit cards...some of the most vocal haters fit into that category. You have a lot of hearsay by admission...maybe you should call the guy and get to know what he is actually about. You likely would be surprised.

I have talked with him enough in the past...and done enough projects with him to know what he is all about....and he is not anything like he has been portrayed here as

Some of the other " Scott is evil" stuff came from people that have a vested intrest in a direct business competition....and as such are more than self serving

I'm sure if anyone wanted to call him he would be more than willing to discuss making amends...as long as it is understand that until he has a business built back up that it will be next to impossible to make everyone happy( if that is even possible). As a matter of fact...some of the vocal posters on here have never even approached him in any regard

why don't you try being more direct and open yourself. You keep insisting he intentionally ripped people off, but never state who/when/where or otherwise to back up your repeated assertions.

I have another one for you;

once a close minded idiot, always a close minded idiot

except that statement is just as full of sh-t as the one you keep trying to pass off

I understand that some did receive something back but are there not people who received nothing? It doesn't matter to me whether it is one person or 100. Whether or not Stealthtl or the others who are still owed want to contact him or not is up to them.

It is what it is, some apparently know more specifics than others. I only know what I have read here posted by Scott and the members of this forum and what I have been told by Tampa locals.

You don't think Stick was lied too and ripped off intentionally? Were stealthtl and mysql101 not ripped off and still owed? If not then boy am I mistaken.

Edit:

But I don't think Scott is evil and I think he is making strides to get back but I also don't think we should just forget the past either and hopefully he will prove me wrong but as I said before, the guy did some shady **** and typically shady repeats itself . But of course you know what they say about opinions.

I don't know for sure and neither do you. That is the point. What I do know is that people got financially hurt just like in any business failure. I paid a guy $2.5k in advance to build some swaybars and he didn't deliver. His business went under. Did he rip me off? Some people might say he did, but the truth is we will never really know if he did or if he got in over his head and simply folded as a result.

You claim to have been in the collection industry, but you keep making statements that either mean you are intentionally misleading people or you were just misleading yourself to think you had any clue about it. When a business goes under for bankruptcy the person involved cannot simply go public and vow to make amends due to overriding legally-binding liability issues. If that person wishes to do so it is best handled privately and in confidence. The only way that can happen then is for the people who were affected to try and keep the line of communication open with the business person. That person also has to get into the position of being able to make those amends if they are so willing. If he is really out to rip people off wouldn't it be easier to choose another business area where the past history is not so well known?

You people are in here causing all this ruckus, yet you sit back and have nothing to say about another vendor hanging out at the track and doing all kinds of mods to his own car while a forum member who paid in full for a turbo kit 40 months ago can't even get an email reply back. Apparently he doesn't qualify as having been ripped off. For the record I don't have any parts from Scott on my car and otherwise am not involved in his business. It just pisses me off to no end what a bunch of douchebag hypocrites you all are for sitting on your asses and acting like you care, because really you don't.

I happen t know a bit about all 3 stories that is vastly different than the stories on here.....

and I think I am a resonably good judge of character..I have met and befriended lots of RX-8 club members over the years...and met a olt of great people...who have helped me..and I have helped..

I have also been ripped off and mistreated by a few as well..... And Scott wasn't one of them

I understand bankruptcy and if he wanted to make things right, he could have. I have seen many companies/clinics fail and the writing was almost always on the wall and things could have been done to salvage them but it takes hard work and tough decisions to be made. Hind sight is 20/20 I guess. We will see how he does in the future, only time will tell.

As for the other questionable vendors, I have voiced my opinions and as far as I am concerned they are all in the same boat. If you take payment for an item and do not deliver on it then that is stealing in my book. It's pretty simple, if you lie to your customers while you are out spending their money and living life then you are a crook. I do understand there are two sides to each story but if someone accused me of something I did not do, I would make damn sure people knew my side.

As for caring, well I do care. I hate to see anyone get ripped off and I try not to be a hypocrite.

yes, my harshness should not be directed so much in your direction. I have just seen this played out the same way for many years and am sick of it. Just like how certain other vendors always manage to pop up and make their own self serving play on the situation.

Well you and Team both get a lot of respect from me (even though I did want to kill Team a time or two ) so I listen to what you guys have to say and I understand your points and it has made me think about the whole situation from time to time when the topic comes up. But RX-8 club stuff aside, the guy has a bad rep locally as well and that says a lot to me as far as his personal character is concerned.

It is what it is. But I suppose bringing up is not helping anyone in the end so I'll go back to posting ***** pics in the boob thread

DanMan, I'm sure you've heard all the self-serving excuses, but you must admit they are only his side of it.

....and I hope you're not implying that Scott doesn't know exactly where to find me, or that the facts are 'vastly different' than as I stated?

So you expect him to contact you?....you understand the position he is/was in, and are waiting holding your breath to be compensated...and continue to make sure he has a difficult time doing anything about it?

Seems a bit counterproductive as far as I can see....some would even say hypocrytical.....so maybe the sandbox isn't a place for you to play

I also have heard the other sides of some of the stories...and the viewpoints from other involved parties

What exactly do you want? Him to fall on a sword...I just don't get it

Anyway...this is once again becoming something far from a Good Guy thread that it started out as....

So you're saying I'm 'counterproductive' and a 'hypocryt' because I didn't ask for my money back???

Where is the logic in that?
"If you'd had the decency to let him continue business-as-usual, I'm sure he'd contact you and pay up"
What color is the sky on your world?

Yes, you are a 'great judge of character' just because you've not been ripped off yet....
...naive much?

I'm in Canada and didn't find out he was filing bankruptcy - how could I? So how am I reasonably supposed to file claims long after the fact?

I had items on the forum for sale - he contacted me with an offer, got the items and I never got paid - how is that any fault of mine?

Years later, HE contacted ME, I asked 'what he had for me' and got the answer ANY asswipe would give.

Go pet your unicorn Dan.
