RX8Performace - Good Guy
I recently purchased the fan control mod from Scott at RX8performance.com. The product is awesome! Before he shipped it, the post office told him the address I gave did not look valid. Instead of doing what most vendors have done to me, hold the item until I call in asking where my product is, Scott called me up and made sure the address was valid. I confirmed and literally 2 days later it was at my house! I installed the product and it only took about 15 minutes. I called Scott back thanking him for the product and asked a couple questions about its operation. He answered all my questions and at the same time was very nice and professional. The product is awesome too! I was running in the 200+ temps every day. I replaced the radiator, fans and hoses the day before I installed this mod. Now after I installed the fan control mod, both fans kick in at high speed and keep the car running cool. When they kick on, they turn both fans on high until the car returns to 179 degrees. Like I said, simple to install, does what it is said to do and the personal customer service you get from RX8performance is top notch. I will definitely be buying again from them and would recommend them to anyone to buy product. AWESOME company!!!

Awesome guy who ripped people off of their hard earned money. He makes a good product and he may be treating his customers well now but let's not forget he stills owes people money. That said, it's your money so spend it how you like. For me personally I find it tough to give any of my money to someone who has ripped off fellow club members.
Also, he is not a member here or an authorized vender here so why create a good guy thread?

I think maybe if he paid back some of the people he still owes. Heck even a few bucks a month would go a long way at showing he is trying to make amends. Or possibly free product? If he wants to continue in this market he has to do something or I think in the long run it would cost him a lot more than he owes certain members of this forum.

I was at a gas station the other day and a second gen rx7 owner pulled in. Bridgeported and turbo'd so I figured I would go ahead and strike up a conversation. We chatted for a few minutes and then he brought up scott. He instantly said to stay far away. Now I have been around for a while here now and I know all the stories. I have made my decision on whether or not to do business with him. It urks me that so many people say to stay away from him and thats beyond this forum. He has been around for a long time. You tell me when the past is the past.

I am not on here much and for that reason don't expect my words to provide much substance. I do have considerable experience with Scott as a customer going back to about late 2005 or 2006. This experience has involved several iterations of build including the current one. The earlier builds were simply me buying off the shelf items, such as fuel pumps or fuel management, and installing them myself, but the more recent interaction has been much more extensive. I am not quite ready to disclose details as to the specifics, specifications or capabilities of the end result of the most current interaction with Scott as that would be premature. Suffice it to say, the current build involves every performance-oriented facet of my RX8. My experience with Scott has proven to me that I can trust him to get what I want out of the car and more.
I am on record on this forum stating that the impression of Scott on the forum is a manufactured negative. I called the active implementation of that impression a witchhunt. That statement stands. It was, in fact, that behavior that I saw on this forum that drove me from it.
Call me names. State falsehoods impugning my judgment and character. I don't care. I have my experience, going back many years, to back me up. You have nothing but hearsay, lies and, for some of you, ulterior motives.
This spring, I will welcome anyone to come out to the track, see the car, and try to hang with me. Then you can form your opinions.

I admit everything I have heard is heresay but his bad rep is not due to this forum alone. He has a bad name locally in Tampa from what I have read on local Tampa forums and from what I have been told by a friend from high school who lives in Clearwater and owns and FD, the guy has a shady rep locally as well.
Your experience has been good and I am glad for that, you deserve it after what you went through with MM. The ones who have had a good experience with him will support him, the ones who he took advantage of will not. I have no ulterior motives, I just don't trust the guy and I want to insure future potential customers know his past. They can choose whether or not to buy from him. If you take money for a product and don't deliver the product or don't refund the customer then you are crook in my book.

glad to see things are working out well for you carbon.
I live in Tampa, have met Scott, and have even purchased a product from him. I also personally know several locals that have been left to dry for thousands of dollars with Scott. People will jump on band wagons and join the "witch hunt" because its human/internet nature. We know witch hunts to be over falsified information, but the fact is there are lots of facts about what has happened in the past. Once someone has omitted to it (and I believe Scott did) then its no longer a witch hunt my friend. The guy has talent with a wrench but man his business practice is terrible.

I was self employed for 5 years doing asset recovery and when the opportunity presented itself to get out of being in business for myself debt free, I jumped at the chance It's not easy running your own business and making ends meet but one should never have to resort to stealing.

Well if you take some one else's property, and sell it without permission and keep the money, is that stealing? To me it is. If I send you a part to repair, pay you for the repair, and then never get my part back is that stealing? To me it is.
And I am a total dufus, that is not heresay.
