[Mazda of Clear Lake - Webster, Tx. : Service - NEGATIVE]
Took car ('04 with less than 4,000 miles - show room condition) in to have transmission neutral switch replaced. Service rep said part was not in stock and would have it shipped overnight. I asked Rep to keep car inside shop, so the car would not be subject to door dings and vandalism. He agreed. However, car was left outside and driver side door was scratched (to deep to be buffed out). Car was put in shop Monday PM. Switch finally replaced Friday AM!!

Hey! anybody have any positive/negative dealings in NJ. I think there are only about 10 dealerships in the whole state. Have to take my 05 back on a recall for the oil calibrating.

I like Wayne Mazda, and they seem to have a good rep with local Mazda gearheads.

BAD DEALERSHIP: Mazda of Milford (CT)

short version is that they charged to inspect the brakes and wanted to charge for things that are TSBs even after having it pointed out. also charged over twice as much as any other place to replace a seatbelt that had been locked from the driver's seatbelt to the back by my daughter (long story - search the other threads). they are nice enough in person and on the phone but will gouge you with their prices.

STAY AWAY FROM MAZDA OF MILFORD (CT).

Thumbs down

Ferman Mazda of Bandon, FL - Negitive - They have been one problem after another. Last one was in to have the oil changed and they told me about the recall... Go to get a rental and get something from the car and they can't find it. Well it turns out the person changing my oil went out to lunch in MY CAR!. Recall was fine plugs and reflash... Then I go to check the oil and it is over filled!!!! I will never take my car to them again.

Mazda of Smithtown, N.Y. - NEGATIVE

I brought my SS in for an oil change and other work aswell. They called me to tell me that my vehicle was ready to be picked up. The sevice manager brought my car around and to his "suprise" my dash looked like it threw-up. All my wires were hanging out ( Alpine IVA-D300 no where in sight) And my 2 Ten inch Eclipse subs were gone. My Amps were hanging from where they were mounted. I was pissed, and the General Manager of said dealership ( Mazda of Smithtown N.Y. ) was kind enough to tell me it wasn't there problem!

Got my reinbursment 4 months later from there insurance company.

Thumbs down Alhambra Mazda : Negative

Overall: Negative

Service: Negative
Their service department made 3 small, but very deep scratches on my front passenger side door during recall service. If getting your car damaged during scheduled service brings you joy, then Alhambra Mazda's the place to go.

Sales: Good
Had no major issues during my S-Plan purchase.

Dent on drivers door which I am positive was not there upon test drive.
Tank was empty (low level light was on, took 55 l to fill)
Called 2 days after delivery to inquire as to my satisfaction, gave the rep the same details, no return call yet.
This happened to me as well. Having Dent-Time come out to fix it today. Too bad I didn't notice it before delivery.

Also a big NEGATIVE for the service department at Hoehn Mazda of Carlsbad. A few things; first of which, the servicemen left scratchs from miscellaneous belt equipment on my center console. Looks like scratches from a keyring. Second; I wanted to make sure that my car had been tuned with the latest flash. When I inquired, the service manager gave me an attitude and said, "What.. did you hear about that on the internet somewhere?"

I was fortunate enough to have a good salesman though. A big thumbs-up for Brian Veitch for making the whole thing virtually painless.

Gullo Mazda in Conroe Texas - Negative!!

What a rip off!!

Their service manager James Rushing is an A-Hole. Does not care about customers at all.

Very bad service as a matter of fact I suspect foul play with my car.

Will not recommend this to anyone.

Milo Gordon Mazda, Lawton, OK

Parts - NEGATIVE

The parts manager is never helpful. When it comes to dealer-only parts, forget about it! I am forced to shop online and pay for shipping rather than attempt to deal with anyone in the parts department. To top it off, they're not friendly at all. Nobody cares the slightest bit about me or my RX-8 They seem to be "at lunch" for at least 7 hours a day.

Service - NEGATIVE

My RX-8 mysteriously broke down. I called roadside assistance to tow the car to Milo Gordon. Service manager said don't count on the warranty to cover the repairs. He said rats may have chewed through the wires! I was stranded on the side of the road for hours, and the parts mgr. was rude and unsympathetic. I had to pull teeth to even try to get a car rental to my house 60 miles away so I could go to work tomorrow.

Courtesy Mazda, Las Vegas, NV

Parts - NEGATIVE

After being on hold for 22 minutes, an associate answered my call and placed me on hold for another 15 minutes. After waiting nearly 40 minutes, I got a quoted price for an ATF Gasket ($60!!!) However, it takes this dealership 3 weeks to get your item should you wish to order with them. I then asked about a second part and hung up after being placed on hold for another 15 minutes. I found the same gasket at Meyer's for $11...

Long Beach Mazda, CA - Negative

About three weeks ago, my engine seized up and would not start. so i end up having it towed to Long Beach Mazda. at first they wanted to see my oil records, and it was fine with me. but then they took pictures of my engine bay, and pictures of my rims+tires+suspension+bodykit. just last week they rejected my warranty claim based on a " lowered suspension (i have mazdaspeed suspension) + wider tires ". i sensed sometihng not right so i took my car in at Browning Mazda located in Cerritos Auto Square, told them about the engine, and told them what Long Beach Mazda said, and Browning said Long Beach is full of it. Toward the end, it was browning mazda who helped me getting warranty, long beach mazda turned out to be dicking around with me because they didnt want to do work on a modified car.

so everyone near long beach mazda, or have taken their car in long beach mazda for service, i would suggest making the drive to browning mazda.

I agree totaly about Long Beach Mazda. They had my 8 for a total of 7 times for a grand total of 33 days. Each time I got my car back worse than before. Went to Browning Mazda to fix my issues and they set me up with a technician that I got to speak with and who seemed to know alot about the 8. He worked on it for a couple days but buy this time I had complained to Mazda and now dealing with a regional tech who is correcting my problems telling me that I certain parts were not put back, missing screws / clips and wrong bolt used. All this because of Long Beach Mazda.

Funny this is that the regional tech is working on it at Long Beach Mazda but assured me that none of there techs will touch my car.

NEGATIVE

If you really want to treated like crap, as well as an idiot, then run, do not walk, to your phone and call them up immediately for a service appointment.

I made an appointment over a week ago, and show up today for ... no appointment. So the service writer tries to fit me in, saying "you know, we're really busy", and acting like I'm keeping her from something more important, like ... her job. Oh nevermind.

So I just want an oil change and air filter changed. Oh, and I brought my own oil. So after 10 minutes the service writer comes out and says they will not use my oil. They will only use their oil. I carefully explain how my oil meets the requirements laid out in the owners manual. I'm talking to a wall. So the head "Master Technician" is summoned. I swear, this guy is barley old enough to shave and starts to talk to me like I'm two years old. Again, I explain how my oil meets the SAE requirements in the "Mazda" owners manual. His best response: "We're not Mazda, we're our own dealership." So I left.

Here's the kicker- as I was about to exit the parking lot, I encountered another 8 coming in, rolled down my window, and warned him about this place. He indicated he was coming in for service also. As I was driving away, I saw him leaving the parking lot. Morale: word of mouth carries, and we need to keep our business out of places that are run poorly.

Recommend this joint be avoided at all costs. If I broke down in front of this place, I would have my car towed any distance before dealing with these bunch of idiots.

BOB KING MAZDA WINSTON-SALEM (HUGE NEGATIVE)

This is probably the worst service center in the nation. The owner doesn't want to fix duplicate problems because MNAO doesnt pay. Have had a dead battery 6 times in 4 months and they keep trying to force me to buy new batteries and have never found the power drain nor do they look.

ROYAL MOORE MAZDA in Beaverton, Oregon
service: NEG
Sales: NEUTRAL

Sales Dept - I bought my car here...but i wasnt happy with my salesman. i bought my 8 used. but i got a fair deal and for the most part i was treated well.

Service Dept - i dropped my 8 off because the heater was working randomly. They decided to replace a heater part. i was told it would be a 1 day job, and the part would be ordered overnight. it took 6 days including the weekend. when i got my car back my ashtray was not put back in. when i got home, i found a wrench under my hood. within 2 weeks of gettin my car back i am now taking to A different dealer because my radio display is very weird...the letters and numbers are random. i'm not saying that Royal Moore is responicble. but they did hace to remove my radio unit to do the heater work.

Herzog Meier Mazda - Beaverton, OR

Sales - NEUT - I dont know, Didnt buy my car here.

Service - SO FAR SO GOOD -
I dropped my 8 off to get the radio problem fixed. the letters and numbers on the radio display are all weird...kind of scrambled looking. They thought it was the display unit. They happily ordered me a new display. they got the part promptly and the install was very fast. the new display unit didnt correct the problem. They talked to mazda and have decided to order me a new radio unit. I also ordered new rear left taillight, as mine is leaking. they are also going to be installing new headlights, as the lenses look a lil burnt from the heat of the bulbs. so far i and VERY happy with this dealer.

STOKES MAZDA (North Charleston, SC)
This dealership flat out lied to me after I curbed one of my wheels. They tried to tell me one of my wheels was bent. As a result I purchased 4 stock wheels from a member of this website and had the wheel removed and put a new one on. Still have to hold the wheel at an angle to keep the car straight. I chekced the so called bent wheel after it was remove and to my surprise it was not bent. STOKES MAZDA lied to me to try to get me to purchase a new wheel from them ($550 thank you very much), when they could have just repaired my alignment. Now I am getting my alignment repaired this weekend by a local mechanic whom I have befriended and vow never to take my vehicle to that god damn unethical blasphemy referred to as STOKES MAZDA. On the bright side Drift Happy made a fair deal with me for his wheels, and they came just as promised and looked just like they did in his pictures, nice to know I can rely on members of this website, but not the ******* dealership.
