I hope that it was not a false document. If it was then that could be classified as Mail Fraud and that would NOT be good.
It would be easy for Jeff to clear it up as he could provide proof that he had the parts to the kit etc before he shipped it though.
Bad of a situation as this is--I hope it doesnt turn out like that.

Yeah... Honnestly, i tried to force myself to imagine a reasonnable ending for everybody, but with the recent shipping "proofs" *COUGH-COUGH*, this is getting really disturbing, even for the rx8club forum in my opinion.

Wtf ? Seriously and honnestly... It's time to wake up, this is the real world.

Jeff needs to initiate a delivery inquiry on his end. itll take a month probably. theyll either come back with delivered or lost.

He can be irritating ...but he isn't a liar...................
So you mean I am a liar!? I have given all the proofs. You can verify the tracking number i've received by yourself...

And me what would i have to gain by wasting my time here, to run after a ghost?

i keep saying this and people dont seem to be listening. its not a tracking number. its the number on the customs form. it relates to an internal PO record that they can use to look where the package wen trough their system. Plus when its handed over to France they use a different number.

if this had been sent to Canada , for instance, It would have kept the same number straight through and I could call Canada post and say "is this out of customs yet" and they could tell me.

La Poste throws out the customs form number and then doesnt make it available to customers.

the only way to track it through is to claim it lost and have the Post Office run an inquiry

I just shipped something to France and what Zoom is saying is true. That number can only be used to track the package while it is in the United States.
Thats a good point--if there is a record of it being shipped within the United States then that is proof that the article was shipped...right?

What i see is that all the reasons are good to keep the customer in the wait to harass him! It won't work with me! I won't give up, as i said before!

My strategy has changed.
Jeff is not able to manage his problems by himself, neither shall i.

That's why a barrister will contact him instead of me for a while. I should have contacted him before, i was so ingenious.

weel-- there is a solution! It appears than the package was insured for $2300. Just file an insurance claim? They will investigate.

Thats a customs form number not a tracking number. its correct that it cannot be tracked via track and confirm on usps.com .

When I went to the post office they cant even look up that number at the front counter they have to get the supervisor to do it. The supervisor said that he can see it as far as leaving the country.

Jeff needs to file the claim and wait for the Post Office to do its inquiry.

Wow, this sucks for all involved.
From what I've glanced at so far, feels like someone in France side-swiped the kit.

Looks like an insurance claim is in order if the receipts are still around.

I wish that the insurance investigate, and i wish i see the result!

Anyway other people are about to investigate, and i could compare and explain the 2 results on the forum.

Another thing, can we speak about Luxluc parcel? Because he hasn't received ityet! And he lives in Luxembourg, just near France

How funny coincidence! The parcel must have been lost too!

I'm waiting for Jeff's react now

Are you implying that MM has agents in France intercepting the parcels? That's preposterous!

You yourself posted the EMS tracking info which says the parcel was delivered. Someone else accepted the parcel (misdelivered or not) or the French postman left it at Chance's doorstep. See the time. He tried once, then again after an hour, then "left" it 10 mins later.

From the materials I've been looking, it feels like French postal service has ways to go.

"CP653426595US" number doesn't look like a customs form number to me.
It looks like a valid EMS identification number used for tracking.

I have one with me right now, for some documents I sent overseas this morning. The 2 letter prefix, the 9 digit number with a prefix zero removed, followed by "US" match up.

The USPS tracking servers are crap. It's having some difficulties. As I'm typing this, it went down altogether.

EMS service is a multinational cooperative. So my guess is the tracking info needs to be sync'ed on both ends. It is possible the logs could have already been flushed from db.

I can assure you that the tracking info you posted from MM looks authentic. They look like the logs I have for my overseas correspondence.

Note that U.S. is only silver for 2010 and France even didn't make it on a performance audit by EMS. They are far from perfect.

zoom44 is right.

I realized my reading comprehension fail.
The "CP" prefix looks to be customs related after looking at some customs form blanks.

As zoom44 mentioned, I don't think it's possible to track all the way to destination with a customs form number unless the customs form number and the EMS ID numbers are linked.

I'll just shut up now.
