For some reason, the special edition STi is listed as starting at $2k less than the regular STi...
I would definitely have to say I favor the evo as others have said, but it's definitely a personal thing and I'm guessing some of the offers in terms of payments etc are a factor as well.
With snow, it makes sense to get the STi over the 370z. I'd personally still go with the STi over the 370z regardless of snow. It's just an added benefit that you might actually encounter a situation that may require snow. You said it's most likely not an issue, but it's kind of a bonus feature in the event you need it.

I'd take the 370z. I really hate to use the term "ricey", but that's exactly what it is. It just has that look, sound, and fanbase that translates directly to "Young, loud, and obnoxious".
However, speaking from a practical standpoint, the STi would make a much better daily driver. Although it's got power, it's a AWD sedan nontheless which makes it just as practical, if not more, than what most people have as commute cars. The 370z is a true sports car and you're not going to be having fun with it in the four months of snow that you'll be seeing.
I'd have a hard time choosing between the two myself. I'd probably go with the 370z and then dish out some chump change for a clunker to use during the winter season. Good luck.

Better aftermarket
Better sound (IMO)
AWD
Seats 4
Doesn't over-heat
Duh, the Scoobie! I really don't like the Z cars from Nissan. A 300ZX and a Porsche Boxter mated to produce the 350Z which then raped a Toyota Celica to create the 370Z. Its just trying too hard. I know the Scoobie isn't the best looking car either but damn.

STI is slower than the WRX. Also, the STI motor no longer has sodium filled exhaust valves, stronger rods, or stronger pistons.
Then again, the 370Z has a motor at the utter end of its development cycle, has reliability issues, and not enough room to go to the grocery store.
I'd take the STi but only in hatchback form.

I had an 08 STI hatch. Its a nice car, you will certainly feel tq, its practical, makes great sounds for a 4cyl, superb grip on the road in wet/dry/snow, huge aftermarket that you can use to customize the feel and power (and IMO you will need to use it).
I grew out of it and moved to better things but come winter time i always miss it.
Here is one them that i've always admired. Hope the owner doesn't mind me borrowing the pics:

As far as Japanese sports cars go, I think the STi has probably the best face of them all. First pic that Sephiroth posted is epic. STi pulls off white really well (not something many cars can do). The 2011 sedan looks really good from certain angles. Like the redesigned hatch STi I think it just has to grow on me a bit. But the aftermarket is great, its got AWD, its a pretty reliable car for the most part, the base price is pretty steep but other than that its a great buy for those who live in harsh climates but still want a fast ride. I don't like the new Evo's. They just look goofy and I think the STi has a WAY better interior.
