I think the Rx8 would hit 165 on the autobahn because you have so much time to get there. I miss German roads
I agree, i've been there this summer for a track day. Hitting the rev limiter in 6th was fun, especially at the track. That straight is sooo long and slightly downhill it just asks to be driven flat out! The tarmac sucks on some of the autobahns so going too fast actually becomes dangerous.

No way you'll hit the RX-8 rev limit in sixth, even downhill with a turbo, there's just not enough power.

I forgot to say that I have a shorter final gear and my car weighs around 220lbs less than a stock rx8. Since it's a track toy is also a tad lower and "a bit" modded.
No need to argue anyway.

QFT! I pushed it to 235kph and did not feel it was safe to maintain or do again, certainly not on that particular stretch of road

In the hundreds of hours I spent crisscrossing Germany since 1996, I never saw any wrecks at all. Not even fender-benders.
(Compared to here in Phoenix where I come across 2 or 3 major accidents every day.)
I'm sure there is a source for statistics in those regions.
