I'm not sure if this thread has ever been done or not, but I want to know what's the fastest you have ever done on an RX-8 or any other car, racetrack or on the street. If you can post video or pics of the speedometer then excellent, but I'm not encouraging it. I've only done 165mph on my 04 RX-8 while driving from Riverside to San Diego, CA on the 15 south at like 2am on a Monday, but I only got video of a time I did 135mph.

I did a driving day in England for my birthday this past year and was able to get to 202 mph in a Lamborghini Murcielago LP-640.

Before that I buried the needle a few times in my R34 GTR at 300 km/h (186mph).

yep, I call bs too. rx8's dont do 165mph. maybe you meant km/h since you did also say "only".

I did 165 on my CBR600RR.

 

well technically, it's plausible if he put smaller diameter wheels on the car, which would make the car's computer "think" that the wheels are moving faster, thus showing said speed....but yea, 165 in a stock 8 seems hard to believe. maybe you were going down hill? lol

 

yeah I have gone 165kph but never 165mph

 

I've done 590mph in a 747. Also, unless you guys are talking about driving on an oval track, I hope you all end up quadriplegic burn victims.

 

88 mph, then I went back to the future.

 

I did 80 on the way to work yesterday. It felt awesome.

 

Went fast enough that the car starting shaking quite a bit so I shut it down. My other ride has 260,000 horsepower and cruises at over 30 knots

 

are you aware that 30 knots is only about 35 mph?

Personally, 146mph (240kph) on an airport run.
Maxed out hitting the limiter in 5th, changing to 6th just loses speed, not enough power......

Evo 9 MR Special Edition stock, ~150mph

 

I've hit upper 160s mph on my 1098 and 138 in the rx8.

 

I did 130 on my Hayabusa while on an on-ramp. I just nailed the throttle and hit 130 before letting off and merging into the highway. Fast bike is fast. I don't see a need to hit the top speed.

 

It also weighs over 97,000 tons...

Fastest I've heard any RX8 go was about 155. Also saw a dyno where the "transmission" tapped out at around 180.

The 8 is so smooth, it can be hard to gauge speed when distracted by oncoming traffic.

Edit: While you're looking up quadriplegic, also look up Richtgeschwindigkeit.
