What should I buy?
OK, so I am looking for a new toy. I'll probably have around $15 to play with. I am keeping the RX-8, selling the 8 plus 15 to get something else is not an option. The RX-8 is my daily driver right now, and i am happy to drive it everyday in Chicago. Although a Lotus Elise is quite tempting.
Anyway here are my current thoughts.
1) FD RX-7
2) E36 M3
3) Jeep Wrangler - off road toy, lifted, big tires etc
4) Buy a cheap daily and put 10 grand into the 8, FI etc.

Hmmm. Definitely don't do #4 if you plan on putting many more miles on it and it's your daily driver. It will become far too unreliable. I've done exhaust, sway bars, brakes, rotors, light flywheel, and alignment, and that's about all you can feasibly do to this car.
The FD is nice, but a maintenance problem also. It really depends on your budget and tolerance for maintenance issues. Is the $15k a downpayment or do you intend to pay cash for a whole vehicle with that?

i have a suggestion, get a used superbike for (emergency and fuel saver (short trips, even daily?)), and the rest to turboing the car?
nvm, ur in chicago. i'd say put your money all in the 8, and spend the rest on tires/entree fees to track/autox event, tat'd turn ur daily driver into weekend toy =p

Option 4. W/ 15g to play with you can get a very good DD for 5k and have plenty for turboing the 8. I would want to feel the full potential of my 8 if I had the money and a DD on the side. FD could easily eat up the 15k (though an FD would be very tempting for me too). E36 would be cool too but whats the maintenance/service on it?

幹他媽!
none of the choices you listed sound smart to me.
FD 7 or f.i.'ing your 8 both = major reliability problems & headaches. wrangler eats gas for lunch. e36 m3 is aesthetically dated looking and expensive to upkeep.
i say, save your money until you can do something sensible- ie upgrade to something really worth upgrading to. $15k really isn't enough beans to play with at this point unless u are willing to take on a $20K+ auto loan to go with it.
