everything in Aussieland undergoes an EXTREME treatment. How much do you think people will pay for that glorified Camry... from Toyota? What if the price is just a hair less than the IS? Or G37. I know which one I rather be..... and it's neither.

Unfortunately, the bread and butter is what sales the most in the US market. As far as Toyota of USA - I've lost all hope of anything exciting. They used to have some rather exciting sports cars in their lineup but nothing now. I feel they probably have lost some enthusiasts over the years (or they are buying Lexus sedans now). They sale plenty of cars but a TRD Tacoma or fast US spec Camry or Corolla XR whatever doesn't cut it for me. They've got plenty of room and money for a sporty niche car here and there in their huge-*** SUV-flooded lineup.

I've had it a couple of times as a rental car here in OZ. It's just OK in my book. Kinda too big when you are driving on roads that are unfamiliar to you.

Australians seem to have a higher appreciation of hot cars. They were putting twin turbos on the 350z years ago. Aftermarket, of course, but still.
