As the owner of the previous Civic Si model, I just can’t get into that OE star-wars bodywork look at all. It really irks me too, because I’d love to get a new Type R, but can’t stand how tacky they look.

I havent heard anything new, but from the article "This is not the first time that a McLaren has gone up in flames. The company recalled some 2,800 cars for a foam pad under the fuel tank that can get wet and corrode the fuel tank, but the 765LT is not on that list." I can only assume it has to do with something like that. Apparently the owner went in to get food and when they came out the car was on fire. I doubt based on the location of the fuel cap that he could have spilled gas near a hot engine or something along those lines.
Boy that FD is an unusual build! Not particularly for me. It took a long time for me to appreciate the 'Greddy9' kit and '993 aero' conversion. Each of those were 'wild' imo for their day but very mild by today's standards. As far as the hatch goes, they are super rare and very cool imo. I sampled a picture from a 7club member who has one. It works in certain situations, def helps make the car more functional.
Oh and that Buick / Olds thing is insane. Wonder what's under the hood.

That was an eighth-gen Buick Riviera, likely with the supercharged Buick 3800 V6 making 240 HP and 280 ft-lb. That's more power than I had in my V8 cop car that I pulled a 7000 lb trailer with.
Except for the color, that thing would be awesome to tow with. The gen8 Riviera was a top-of-the-line luxury car with leather everything.
Converting wrong-wheel-drive cars into car haulers is as old as wrong-wheel-drive cars. I love the concept. It's been done many times with Olds Toronados, Cadillac Eldorados, and even minivans.
