What not to do to your car!
It's not functional at the track either. It's mounted wrong and way too tall.
edit: it's also way to raked. It would act more like an airbrake.

Grand-AM car wing. Notice how it's no taller than the roof line and relatively flat. Don't forget that this is mounted through the trunk to the chasis, the car is a tube frame, it has 150whp more give or take, and is geared to hit top speed at the end of a straight.

now look at the wing's height, angle, and mounting. Do you really think it's functional?

^^^ My point exactly. Even a race car built by people who know what they are doing doesn't have a beast like that on the trunk. That's not a functional wing, therefore it's unnecessary, therefore it puts it closer to rice than race.
Because that wouldn't be nearly as much fun.
And that poor Ferrari is getting dizzy up there.
Even if he tracks it twice a month it's necessary. Just because it's registered that doesn't mean ****. There are plenty of street driven "race cars".
Why don't you just say you hate the way it looks rather than calling it ricey or saying it is unnecessary? One could argue that any performance mod on the street is unecessary.

If Grand-Am would let them, they would put that wing up in the clean air. It's less efficient when it's hidden behind the cabin. The wing on the street RX8 has to have a higher angle of attack. It doesn't work as well as the one used in GA (less efficient/more drag).
Tracking a car is not racing.

If that 8 really was a track car and attained the speeds and G forces to necessitate that wing then it wouldn't be using it's stock rotors and would at least require drilled and slotted rotors and preferably a caliper upgrade but it clearly has it's stock rotors in the pic.
This is like fat and obese people wearing spandex and think they look good. Some people just don't realize that sometimes people pointing and saying something it isn't always a compliment.

The first car must be painted at least 8 different colors following no lines whatsoever
