I put a 350 in my 85 GT. Alot of people use the northstar because you can use the stock manual Fiero transmission but you have to have a custom clutch/flywheel made.

 

this guy works in the same building as me and he drove this into the parking lot yesterday afternoon. yes, the tire is almost completly gone except for a small amount of rubber on the bead or lack there of.

 

so my wife is a fan of this thread and she takes pleasure is supplying me photos that are appropriate. I apologize on her behalf that I do not have a photo but she just called me and told me a RX8 passed her and on the read DS quarter panel they covered up damage with a flame job (no flames anywhere else on the car mind you). Just thought that was worth sharing

yeah, that one came up a few times, but it honestly doesn't even look that bad. If it were a pure street car it would be kinda ridiculous.

They might be quality parts, but I'm still on the side of the fence saying this is not a race car. Nothing else about that car indicates that it needs a spoiler like that.

Even if it is, it's still a street car, hence the license plate. You really think that much spoiler is really necessary for anything other than a purpose-built race car?

 

I'd call it rice. It's far too tall to be functional and if the car had the 200+whp more than stock to generate the speed for it to function, it would buckle the trunk. Look at the spacers between the risers and the deck lid.

 

Even if he tracks it twice a month it's necessary. Just because it's registered that doesn't mean ****. There are plenty of street driven "race cars".

Why don't you just say you hate the way it looks rather than calling it ricey or saying it is unnecessary? One could argue that any performance mod on the street is unecessary.

It's only rice if it's not used. IF the car is tracked then it's functional and therefore not rice. I do agree that it looks like **** though.
