I am about to purchase new tires for the first time for my 04 RX8. Any suggestions or any ones to avoid?

i have no problems with my stock potenzas.

That being said I am going to a different tire when i wear them out.

 

I got RE050A pole position in the stock size. Pretty decent tires.
The RE040s were extremely noisy and only had good grip on warm dry roads.

 

I've only really noticed the noise on concrete sections of the highway. The were fine on asphault at any speed.

 

If you're happy with mediocrity the more power to you.
