I had pretty much written-off the STi because I couldn't get past the new look of the '06/'07 and I just did not want that huge wing. I know that I could have done a trunk lid swap with a WRX owner, but I didn't like that look either and there are no aftermarket wings that look good to me. Now I hear that Subaru may be introducing a hatchback version (not a wagon like the WRX) of the STi sometime late next year, so it's back on my list.
