Im glad he is a fellow rotary owner I also own a few fc's right now, if he hat a bad experince with and fd is one thing but to say the car is not worth a crap, just remenber that the fd out perforns the fc in every way , in my experience the fd is more robust than the fc in many ways, i ran my car at 14psi for a month, i dit this to one of my fc's and it dint last a day.

this is an opinion base in my personal experience

nice to finally see more fellow old rotary owners around here. the FDs twins and intercooler are made to handle more boost. IIRC the stock units on the FCs can handle up to ~16psi until it starts to give.. the stock TMIC can handle up to ~12psi max and same with the stock BOV.

the problem with the fc( as all rotarys) is fuel and the ecu, belive it or not the fd fuel system and ecu are much better.

but enough hijaking they are all good cars one has some strong point the other has other strong points.

the fd was made to 2002 so I dont see it as al old car, but I love the fc if i have to chose, the fd gets my vote, my wife likes the fc more

my favorite old car would be my rx-2 coupe

There was sarcasm dripping off my earlier statement. I was merely poking fun at the fact that talking about the FC/FD has nothing to do with this thread.

My favourite old school cars are the RX2 coupe series one with square headlights and round tail lights plus the RX4 coupe which i still have a soft spot for as it was my first car

I got 2 rx-2 coupe's from a guy, he left one outside without any protection and the car completly rusted over that is the square lights one, the other one has the 4 round lights is getting a new paintjob

I was so mad at the guy, to make things worse he is a rotary enthusiast

All he had to do is invest in a car cover, makes you mad doesn't it!!

I was reading in one of my Mazda rotary books by Yamaguchi (excellent books by the way I highly rate them) that the RX-2 was meant to have square headlights in all markets on the first model but they had to change in the U.S. as they were not allowed square headlights at the time. Same with the fugly bumpers on the U.S. models.

The RX-2 is my next project car but as we all know projects suck a lot of money. Hopefully in the next year or so

Easy choice. It's gotta be this bad boy. See if you can guess the year and I'll tell you why it's the model year to have...



The one time I got to drive one was better than sex. I was 17 at the time and bought some parts for my '66 Barracuda from a local Mopar guru. When I saw the glossy black Roadrunner in the driveway time stood still. He let me drive it down the street. I know don't if it was the hemi power or the horrible exhaust leak coming through the driver side window but I was comfortably numb the whole time. He popped the hood and it was even more unbelievable. It was so clean you could have performed open heart surgery in there. The car originally came with a 383ci but he found a factory hemi with hydraulic lifters in a junkyard in the early 80's. The engine had all the names of the engineers engraved into the block. It was unbelievable. Someday I'll have my own. Someday...

Good call. The factory hemi came with hydraulic lifters for 1970. It's the hemi to own if you're in to muscle car era MOPAR's.
