I hve to say mine was a 69 Nissan Skyline Gt-r. I remember the first time i seen one was year 1992 (age 16) oh Hwy 58 in okinaway japan. It was up against a 70 nissan z. both cars sounded so monster like, that it gave me the biggest smile. Even thougth i will never admit to my friends in japan that my favorite old school is a Nissan, since they use to give me hell for getting a 92 turbo rx7 back in 95 and they all got nissan silvia and 180sx.
Any how i wont forget that day when i seen this car. what was the car that you can remember seeing and just brought a big smile? Well its time for me to head out of the office. Enjoy the weekend all. |

pretty strange looking cars, so what type / kinds of car are considered old school?
|
I recently sold my first car (87 Starion). That to me will always be my favorite old school car (tes I'm partial). That was was so hot back in the day it turned heads right and left. Even to this day when fixed up to look nice, it still turns heads, and draws a lot of attention. Damn fast too when modded. I truly miss that car, but I couldn't endure the reliability nightmares any longer, after 24 years of bittersweet ownership. ;)

:hahano: my first true old school car was the 1969 plymouth road runner..a lot of cars came behind this one but no one could dub that 440/375 power and the sound of that exhaust was to die for!!bbbbbrrrrrraaaaaaappppppp!!!!! :hahano:

... an Oxymoron. Rotary cars weren't really worth a crap until 1993 and the dual turbo... OK, flame me... just my opinion |
^ youre kidding me right? do you know anything about the FB and FC and how much potential they have? sure they werent as powerful as the FD but they had the same potential of making the same power with only a few mods. they handle great and they were pretty damn light and it was pretty impressive since the FB's (especially the GSL-SE) and FC's were damn fast back in its days and they would come up to first place in every road race with the cars in their class... and its 1993 TWIN turbo... and the 13b-RE/W design was basically almost the same as the FC's 13BT... soo.. maybe you should do a little studying on the history of the rotary.
|
edit: also if you dont know... Car & Driver raced their RX-3 back in the days in SCCA and they never lost. they were kicked out of the races since they won every race. here.. study a bit.

Any car has potential with "only a few Mods." My knowledge of Rotary power is somewhat limited because I've only owned a 93 RX7 (when you were 3 years old), an 04 RX8 and my current 06 RX8... Prior to that, I had no desire in own anything rotary. As I mentioned earlier, it's my opinion. If you want to defend the FB and the FC's, knock yourself out. You're not going to change my mind... |
