^I would think with the redesign it would come with that power bump but for 08 I don't believe it will, though I think it will be more than 315. I haven't followed Nissans new models closely.
Also, this is the typical thread when the topic mentions X car gets a power bump. No one can appreciate x car without ripping it apart and claiming love for theirs when no one was bashing their car to begin with.

But, I do respect Nissan for working on the engine, getting the HP up and up, and making changes that will appeal to customers. Something Mazda, should be doing. I mean really, new CD changer and colors, is not what I think most RX-8 customers want. Mazda needs more Mazdaspeed products and upgrades for the RX-8 and of course more HP. Mazda has a kick *** car that just needs a little extra. The demand seems to be there, but Mazda does understand its customers? Maybe its because it buried or burned all those customer surveys, that there is a lack of understanding or communication problem.

The Z is Nissan's halo car and they're putting time and money into it to keep it current and interesting. For better of for worse, Mazda is just a different car company with a different way of looking at things. I'm not sure our incessant pleas really resonate with Mazda when they're thinking long term.

13B-REW
A twin-turbocharged version of the 13B, the 13B-REW, became famous for its high output and low weight. The twin Hitachi HT-12 turbos were operated sequentially, with the primary providing boost until 4,500 RPM, and the secondary coming online afterwards. Output eventually reached, and may have exceeded, Japan's "maximum" of 280 hp (208 kW) for the final revision used in the series 8 Mazda RX-7.
Applications:
* 1990-1995 Eunos Cosmo, 235 hp (176 kW)
* 1992-1995 Mazda RX-7, 255 hp (190 kW)
* 1996-1998 Mazda RX-7, 265 hp (197 kW)
* 1999-2002 Mazda RX-7, 280 hp (208 kW)

13B-REW 1993-2002 FD3S
13B-RE 1990-95 Cosmo
20B Cosmo
13BT 1986-91 FC3S
a lil on a 13b-re in a 13b-rew FD (swap)
"The Cosmo 13B-RE is a cross between the 2nd gen RX-7 (FC 13b TII) and 3rd gen RX-7 (FD 13b-rew) motors. The Cosmo 13b-re had mounts on the intermediate plate where the 3rd Gen 13B-REW motor has motor mounts bolting through the oil pan and into the rear rotor housing.
The Cosmo 13b-re intake manifolds have ports are around 30% larger then the FD 13b-rew, but restrictor plates in the exhaust make the exhaust port smaller. The Cosmo turbos are smaller (Hitachi HT10 versus HT12) due to all of them being Automatic vehicles. So the cosmo motor will have less Hp (230 compared to 255).
Exhaust bolt up is supposed to be identical to the 13b-rew
Tranny will bolt up the same as an Automatic motor 13BT-REW.
The 13b-rew has 3 x 50mm butterflies (2 x secondary and 1 x primary)
The 13b-re has 2 x 45 (secondary runners) and 1 x 50mm (primary)."

The Z looks like a bloated cow in pictures, but in person it looks teh sexy. Don't exactly know what it is. If anything they need to get into the world of sharper lines rather than it's somewhat bulbous roundness that it sports now. I would hope they go in that direction for the next generation model.

Its better than the tiny little child seats found in some other 2+2 sports cars.
