Rx8 diff in a Miata?

hello all, I hope i posted in the right section, but i have a 00 miata.. I found a stock lsd from an 04 rx8 for a really good price, the guy states it will fit in "some miatas" but hes not sure which ones.. The 1.8 rear end, that ive got, is a little more friendly with diff swaps than the original 1.6 that came on the earlier year miatas. also, is it a torsen type or a clutch type?

Do any of you have any expirence with this? Thanks so much for any help!

You'd probably have better luck on a Miata form like Miata.net or something along those lines.

There is no relationship between the two diffs. An RX8 diff is bigger and beefier than all the Miata diffs ever including the NC diff which is similar in appearance but smaller.
